This past weekend, our team stepped onto one of the biggest stages in Ontario amateur Muay Thai: the Provincial Championships.

We brought three athletes and came home with a gold medal, a silver medal, and something even more important, a clear demonstration of hard work, resilience, and trust in the process.

Owen Chan

Owen faced a strong and powerful opponent. After a difficult first round, he potentially suffered a broken nose and had to be examined by the ringside doctor.

He refused to quit, continued making adjustments, and fought through adversity with tremendous heart. We couldn’t be more impressed with his toughness, composure, and overall improvement.

Hayley Kingston

Less than a month ago, Hayley stepped into the ring for the first time.

This weekend, she fought twice at Provincials, earning a spot in the finals and competing in just her third fight ever. She faced a more experienced opponent while competing above the weight class we expect her to fight in moving forward.

Hayley showed incredible courage and determination, leaving everything she had in the ring. A Provincial silver medal is an outstanding achievement, but we’re even prouder of the composure she displayed throughout the tournament.

Huy Dang Nguyen

After two difficult losses, Huy took the feedback from his coaches and got to work.

Over the last three weeks, he made major changes to his preparation, strategy, and ex*****on. This weekend, that work paid off.

He trusted his corner, followed the game plan, made the right adjustments, and fought his heart out from start to finish.

As always, we are back to the grind. We will make the adjustments and come back stronger than before.

Congratulations to our team and our coaches on a hell of a performance this weekend!

Respect to every athlete, coach, and team that shared the ring with us this past weekend.

Thank you to .muaythai .thaiboxing , and for the sportsmanship, professionalism, and hard rounds. Nights like these help grow the entire Muay Thai community.

A special thank you as well to for putting together an incredible event and giving these athletes a platform to showcase their hard work.

Proud of every one of our students for having the courage to step into the ring under the lights. Win or lose, there is no substitute for that experience. It takes discipline, trust, and heart to walk through those ropes, you made every one of your coaches proud.

A special congratulations to Hayley on earning a TKO victory in her very first fight. You stayed composed, listened to your corner, weathered the pressure early, and executed when the moment came. Not many people can say they earned a stoppage in their debut.

The work continues. Provincials and CMTO are next!

Three fighters. One team.

To our Kru’s who prepared us, sharpened us, and held the standard—thank you.
To every fan, family member, and friend showing love under the lights—thank you for your support.

Now it’s time.

Time to dance under those lights.
Time to show the months of work.
Six minutes that reflect everything we are becoming as Nak Muay.

We are ready.

Ever blocked a hook and accidentally punched yourself in the face? Let’s fix that! When defending a left hook with your right arm, keep your guard high but align the impact at your forearm’s midpoint—not your hand! This disperses the force and keeps that fist from giving you a surprise pop in the mouth. Keep your guard smart, no self-KOs!

Our Christmas party gave us a chance to slow down and acknowledge the people who make this gym what it is. We handed out a few awards, but more than anything, we just wanted to say thank you — for the time, effort, kindness, and care that so many of you bring into this space.

Looking back on the year, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made together, and we’re thankful for the trust you place in us. Looking ahead, we’re focused on continuing to build our sticky community.

We’re genuinely grateful for each and every one of you.
Thank you for being part of the Montrait Muay Thai family.

🥊 From the ring… to the table. 🥢

Next Saturday after training, we’re swapping combos for curries at Chiang Mai Restaurant in Liberty Village.
Curries that hit harder than a roundhouse.
Stir-fries with more snap than a teep to the ribs.
Desserts so sweet they’ll drop your guard.

Lock in your spot by Monday—book it just like a class.
Come hungry. Leave victorious. 🏆
