In the interest of drinking your morning lemon water, we’re sharing this delicious elixir from Andrea Hannemann (), which she shares in her new cookbook, Plant Over Processed. 🍋🍋

Digestion-Boosting Morning Tonic 👇

1 cup of filtered water
Juice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon of maple syrup
1 pinch of cayenne pepper

Mix everything and enjoy!

Time to shine the spotlight on our trainer Emily! 😊

Emily has been training at F45 for almost 3 years now after retiring from competitions in provincial gymnastics for the University of Toronto Gymnastics Club.

She loves the community at F45 The Beach, specifically how supportive our F45 family is in motivating each other to create and stay accountable to our goals, regardless of age, ability, or level. ❤️

When asked for a coaching tip, Emily had this to say: “Create realistic fitness goals for yourself to stay motivated. Also remember to take the time to stretch after sessions as it will help you recover better for the next class.”

Is willpower failing you when it comes to improving your nutrition?🤔

We’ve been there and we want to help!

Save your willpower for dragging your butt to the gym and try these 7 simple hacks to improve your eating habits! 👇🏻

1. Start the day with a glass of lemon water🍋

Drinking lemon water first thing on an empty stomach does wonders for hydration – but it goes beyond that, too. You’ll flush your system of toxins and deliver key nutrients, such as vitamins C and B, calcium, and magnesium.

2. Eat your bowl 🥣

Use vegetables and fruits as containers, so you get an extra serving of veggies without even thinking about it. Bell peppers, squash, pineapples, and melons all work great for this. And you don’t have to wash a bowl at the end!

3. Jump on the “Meatless Monday” bandwagon

The idea here is to give up meat for one day a week, which will naturally have you reaching for more veggies to fill up. Plus, it’s great for the environment too. That’s what we call a win-win.

4. Stop eating when you’re 80% full 😅

In his book, In Defense of Food, Michael Pollen shares a philosophy practiced by the long-lived Okinawans in Southern Japan known as “Hara Hachi Bu.” This roughly translates to “eat until you’re 80% full.” Interestingly, these people also have “one of the lowest rates of illness from heart disease, cancer, and stroke.” Coincidence? Probably not.

But how do you stay consistent when the world now seems to operate day to day? 🤔

You slow down and be gentle with yourself, a ‘go with the flow’ mindset is a must in these times. 💖

We all love being together and sharing in the atmosphere within our walls, but those walls aren’t what give our F45 home value… it’s our team, it’s all of you. 💪🙌

Whether we are to endure another shutdown or not (fingers crossed), we know we will survive it together and our strong, supportive team will be there for each other. 💕
