Ray Murphy Memorial Doubles Squash Tournament
November 6–8, 2026

Join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Ray Murphy with four draws of hard-fought, good-spirited doubles squash - played the way Ray always played: all in, and all in for each other.

Raymond Charles Murphy was a lifelong Torontonian whose kindness, quiet grace, and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A dedicated educator, Ray spent his career helping students feel supported and inspired. At Mayfair Clubs, he found joy in squash, fitness, and the friendships he built over the years. Beyond the Club, Ray was passionate about giving back, supporting charitable causes through cycling and volunteering, including his work with veterans at Sunnybrook Hospital’s K-Wing.

This tournament is an opportunity to celebrate Ray’s life and the values he embodied: sportsmanship, generosity, and community.

We hope you’ll join us on court to honour a cherished friend whose legacy continues to inspire.

We’re excited to share that the resurfacing of all four indoor pickleball courts at Mayfair Lakeshore is now complete, and the courts are back ready for play. Book your courts now!

The courts have been upgraded with a Premium Cushion Acrylic Surface, designed to provide:

Better traction
Improved comfort
More consistent play

We’ve also installed new fencing between the courts to help create a more defined playing environment.

We’re so proud to celebrate Tania Kumar, a valued member of our squash community and a huge contributor to our programming, who has been recognized with the Barbara Cooper Award from Squash Ontario.

The award recognizes an individual in Ontario who has made a lasting contribution to building, promoting and enhancing women’s squash, while demonstrating leadership, fair play and a commitment to their community.

Through her work with women’s squash, she has helped create opportunities for women to get involved, develop their skills, build confidence and connect with others through the sport.

There’s also a special Mayfair connection to this recognition. The award is named in honour of Barbara Cooper, who was previously Head of Squash at Mayfair Lakeshore and made an incredible contribution to the squash community.

Congratulations, Tania! We’re proud to have you as part of the Mayfair community and excited to see you receive this well-deserved recognition.

The crew is working away today on the 1st of 4 coats of paint before painting the lines for our Pickleball courts at Mayfair Lakeshore.

The new surface is designed to provide improved traction, more consistent ball response, and a playing experience that’s closer to a traditional tennis court surface.
