Hi everyone, I noticed a lot of hits on the FB page recently. Ppl have been asking me if I’m going to fire up the dojo again? I still have it but only teach when I want and only to those who are older students. I’m not taking new students. It was a good run in the Beach for sure, lots of good times, good ppl, but the army has me for a couple more years and then who knows what happens. I will continue to teach at the dojo as long as I have it but only in a two or three hour seminar type format to those who are in the circle. For those who are teaching under me and want to keep progressing I can help you move to 7th Dan or higher depending on what happens in the next decade of my life.

The training has served me well and I feel I did my community service of teaching in a full time dojo for 30 years. COVID has given me new options and I’d like to live a little before it’s all over. Please don’t be mad or upset just be glad it happened. It’s funny how we take things for granted, you never know when life will change and it’s the last time you’ll see someone or someplace. The dojo has always been a very special place for me, I’m not sure when that last class will be so if you can try and make it.

Merry Christmas everyone hope you are keeping safe and practicing your situational awareness.

I’ve been keeping a low profile only working with a couple of ppl and only going out for essentials, as the protocols are put in place to stop the spread.

Teaching martial arts at the dojo has not happened since March 12th. What a year, I was pulled into an army position first week of April and it has been non stop since then. It’s not all army I’m also in a house build in the neighborhood so that’s amazing.

On a business note Grand Master Platt has decided to disband the organization so we are no longer CMAC. We had a good run as an organization, don’t be sad everything has a beginning and an end. As for our dojo we will wait and see what happens next. Some of the senior directors have assembled so we will never be alone, it’s all good.

One of the things the martial arts taught me was to be flexible and notice what’s going on around you, so you can make changes. I’m doing fine although I miss teaching, training and seeing everyone. My body is feeling it so I need to get training again, army training doesn’t have the same rejuvenating energy. Our system is hard and soft the soft is to recover, make time for that.

Hi everybody, the dojo will not be opening the way we used to, currently we are doing zoom Monday’s and Thursday’s but just for adults. If there is an interest maybe small groups or outdoor classes can still happen.
