Sabbath Saturday, March 9th, 2024 🌃 Prayer:

INSPIRATION:

Deceivers never admit that they are lying. The same is true of deceivers that purport to speak in Jesus’ name. They may use the right words, and their ideas may sound compelling, but only Jesus is the way to the Father. Jesus has given us His example and His word so that we may be discerning and wise, and prepared to resist deception.

PRAYER:

God, as I study Your word, help me to know You better. Give me wisdom to grow in my knowledge of You, and give me open eyes to see the truth. Help me to measure all that I hear against the truth of Your word, so that I may not be led astray by liars and deceivers. In Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen.

SEEK THE LIVING

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

Christ's resurrection marks the forgiveness of our sins and our spiritual rebirth; the possibility of eternal life is born. "Why seek ye the living among the dead?"

What is death if it's sting has been removed? If we know that we have been granted eternally life, why would we be afraid of it? I am reminded of Romans 8:6: "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." It is possible to be spiritually dead even if we are alive if we are carnally minded. Do not seek the dead amongst the living! Be spiritually minded and you shall be granted eternal life, as Christ was.

Where do we seek answers in difficult times? We often turn to the carnal pleasures because we are short-sighted and weak. If someone close to us dies, does this strengthen our relationship with God? Often the opposite is true, and we turn to worldly pleasures to try to soothe the pain. This has the exact opposite effect. We must realize that Christ is alive, that he has been reborn for us, and that we too must carry on living. We mustn't be tempted by the flesh, for to choose that is to choose death; to choose the Spirit is to choose life. Choose life❗

🌅 PRAYER FOR SABBATH SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17th, 2024

INSPIRATION:

What does it mean to be pure in heart? Do being good and honest get us there? Despite our best efforts, pride finds a way to fill our hearts with selfish pursuits. But a heart that has been renewed by Jesus is a heart that seeks the Father’s will. And when we live in surrender to God, He shapes our will to His own. The more we pursue Him, the more He reveals Himself to us and through us.

PRAYER:

Lord, thank You for making me a new creation in You. Please purify my heart and mind so that my eyes may be opened more each day. Help me to conquer my pride so that I may know You more fully and see Your face. I give myself fully to You. In Jesus’ name, amen and amen.

🌅 PRAYER FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2024

INSPIRATION:

Did Jesus really promise to give us whatever we ask for? Not quite. This is not a promise to meet our every whimsy. Rather, Jesus is inviting us to let His presence and His word change our hearts. When we do, His desires will become our desires, and our thinking will conform more to His ways. And we will no longer be asking for our own wishes to be granted, but for His will to be done in us.

PRAYER:

Gracious God, thank You for inviting me into Your presence. Draw me near so that I may experience more of You. Use the power of Your word to transform my heart and mind, making me more like You. Help me to seek Your will, and grant me all that I need to carry out the purpose You have for me. In Jesus’ name, amen-and-amen.

🌃 PRAYER FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13th, 2024.

INSPIRATION:

It’s easy to cry out to God when things go wrong. We call out asking Him to defeat our enemies, to heal our illnesses, and to overcome our trials. But what motivates our cry? Is it simply our own desperation, or do we want others to know that our God is the One True God? Let us call on the Lord knowing that the glory is His and that our lives are living testimonies to His greatness.

PRAYER:

Thank You, Lord, for faithfully rescuing me from sin and death. Thank You for all the times that You have snatched me from defeat. Lord, I seek Your hand again in my current difficulty. I pray not just for my own sake, but for the sake of all who witness Your power, that You would rescue me again, and be glorified in my story. In Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen.

INSPIRATION:

It’s easy to provide food and comfort for our guests. And most of us have no trouble feeding needy strangers. But feeding an enemy in need? That sounds crazy. Yet, when we return kindness for evil, we pass on the burning coals that bring God’s warm and inviting love into his home, and into his life. A little kindness done for God’s sake can have a life-changing impact.

PRAYER:

Lord, when others oppose me, in my humanness, I desire to retaliate. Guide my actions, so that I do not repay evil for evil. Instead, empower me by the love that You poured out on me even when I was Your enemy, to pass on the warmth of Your kindness. And I pray that as I do, You would bring the light of Your love into the hearts and homes of others. In Jesus’ name, amen and amen.
