July 20th, 1973.
Bruce Lee died tragically 50 years ago today. He inspired me to take up martial arts, and after several of them, I finally came full circle and arrived at WingTsun, his original art. Been at it for over 30 years now and it still keeps giving. RIP, Mr. Lee.

A brief history of Sifu Asad's martial arts background, the teachers who passed on the art of WingTsun since 1972, including Great Grandmaster Yip Man (Ip Man) and what led to the creation of the program Kids-WingTsun in 2006. Kids-WingTsun is derived from the practical martial arts system WingTsun, taught age-appropriately to children, age 5-12.

It's been a while... newest video, on a new program at WingTsun Toronto. For the first time since opening WT classes in Toronto in 1995, teaching adults only, we are now introducing WingTsun classes tailored to children aged 5-12. "Kids-WingTsun", as developed in Europe, a North American first.

What is WingTsun?

A video created 20 years ago but info has not changed. I do think I move better now than back then. ;)

Steve McMinn still cracks me up, how he backs away from trouble... unscripted. :D

Oh and I used de-escalation techniques on a subway train against 3 punks a couple of weeks ago. More aggressive than portrayed in the video below (what I teach on SG 5, to meet or escalate verbal aggression to possibly intimidate the initial aggressor, an advanced technique).

Our registration for Virtual Beginner’s WingTsun Class is now open.

- Classes will be LIVE via Zoom and feedback will be tailored individually to students in real-time.

- Classes will be recorded and can be streamed later, if you miss a class
