To register for the Scarborough Link Ride email: [email protected]

The purpose of these rides is to bring attention to several gaps in both the Loop Trail and the Scarborough Link. The goal is to create an continuous active transportation route while minimizing on-street sections.

The Loop is a 75 km trail that encircles the central part of Toronto. The Loop includes the Don Valley Trail, the Finch Hydro Corridor, the Humber Valley Trail and the Martin Goodman Trail. There are only 5 km of gaps that need to be addressed in the Loop.

The Scarborough Link connects with the Don Valley Trail and the Meadoway and includes the Taylor Massey Creek Trail, the Gus Harris Trail and the proposed West Scarborough Rail Trail. There are 4 km of gaps to address on the Scarborough Link Trail. The creation of the West Scarborough Rail Trail would be the missing link in a 25 km trail from Lake Ontario to Rouge National Urban Park.

Learn to Cycle: Beginner Bike Classes for Ages 55+

https://www.scarboroughcycles.ca/general/learn-to-cycle-55/

We are teaming up with PointA to offer learn to ride classes for adults 55+ years of age!

The benefits of cycling for older adults are well understood and are associated with positive mental and physical health outcomes. Physical activity improves cardiovascular health, balance, helps lower risks of Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and certain cancers.

The goal of our Learn to Cycle 55+ program is to develop practical cycling skills, and help participants get connected to Scarborough’s growing cycling community.

We will cover the following:
* Balance and handling
* The ABC Safety Check
* How to Plan the Best Route
* Road Safety Skills

Register for a 1-hour lesson! (Participants must be 55 years of age or older, limited spots available)

9:30 am or 11:00 am, Monday September 28, 2026.
