Quick heads-up for tomorrow: We’ll be open, but yours truly is running the show solo. Please come with a little extra time, as waits could reach 30 minutes when we’re busy. I really appreciate your patience.

This final push also helps fund our winter upcycling operations, which is actually where The Up-Cycle gets its name.

We save unusable parts from our repairs and turn them into something new: bicycle chain ornaments and keychains, brake rotor wreaths, rim wreaths and more. With our additional production space this year, we’re hoping to expand that side of what we do even further.

And I know I say this a lot. I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but I genuinely mean it every single time:

This community helped us grow from working out of a backyard to where we are today. Every person who bought a bike, brought us a , told a friend about us, dropped off an old bike, shared a post or simply gave us a chance helped build this place.

You guys have helped me build a business, support my family, and somehow shape a life out of scrap metal and hope.

I will never stop being grateful for that. ❤️🚲♻️

(Also, I think my little guy is pretty happy people support his papa so he can keep this bright beautiful smile)

We are in urgent need of people to part out bicycles. We have to clean out about 150 from a 20ft sea can.

Offering $10 per fully parted and sorted adult bicycle, $5 for kids bikes.

We use power tools so its much faster. Quicker your hands more money you'll make.

Great chance for your teen/young adults to make a couple bucks before they go back to school/post secondary

Anytime during our hours 1030am to 630pm Monday to Friday

10am to 4pm Saturdays and Sundays

4:30 AM. Breakfast, coffee, then out to the shop.

Sometimes I sit here drinking coffee out of my own branded mug, surrounded by toys for my baby son, and think about where this all started.

Working out of a backyard.

And there are genuinely mornings where I look around and think...

How the hell did I get here?

There’s a part of The Up-Cycle story that I don't talk about very often.

My grandfather was probably one of the biggest believers in me when I started doing this. He passed away just three days before I opened our first location. I literally served the community hot dogs at our grand opening, while choking back tears and thinking about a funeral 2 days later.

Then, two weeks before we opened our new location on Ellesmere, my mother nearly died from a brain hemorrhage. The doctors told us the odds of it not taking her were more than one in a million.

She made it.

Then we opened our Norland location.

A week later, my father almost died from an serious infection gone septic.

So when I talk about perseverance, family, or fighting through hard times, I'm not pulling words out of some business handbook.

We've lived it. The happiest moments of the last few years have been sprinkled with pain.

We're a family that pushes through. We work our asses off. We don't stop, and we don't quit.

And I've tried to build The Up-Cycle around those same principles.

Whether you spend $10 with us or $1,000, whether you're buying a bicycle or trusting us to repair the one you already love, we're going to do our absolute best to make things right for you.

We're not perfect. We'll make mistakes. But we'll own them, we'll work to fix them, and we'll stand behind what we do.

I genuinely believe that kind of integrity is becoming harder to find in business.

As The Up-Cycle grows, I never want us to lose it.

Today I stopped by the picket line at Pickering Casino Resort with some coffee and donuts for the workers out there standing up for themselves.

The Up-Cycle is still a little guy. We know what it's like to work hard, fight for what you're building, and stand your ground when something matters.

And no matter how big The Up-Cycle gets, I never want us to forget that.

Supporting the community isn't something we do for a photo or a post. Sometimes it means actually showing up, standing on the front line with people, hearing what they have to say, and letting them know somebody sees them.

Today it just happened to involve coffee, donuts, and me showing up to the front line in camouflage shorts. 😂☕🍩

We'll always support the little guy, because we're still one of them.

And if we're fortunate enough to become one of the big guys someday, we'll remember exactly where we came from.

Things can get pretty busy around here, but we’re never too busy to lend a hand when our local food bank needs a few extra hands.

At The Up-Cycle, giving back to our community has always meant more than just keeping people riding. Because a good bike ride is great, but it’s even better with a full tummy. ❤️

We’re proud to help out wherever and whenever we can. Whether it’s making cycling more affordable, keeping bikes out of landfills, or simply showing up when our neighbours need some help, we believe a strong community takes care of each other.
