The history of the dance Kizomba is a story of perseverance. At the time, the dance Kizomba was seen as a message; a passport; a flag; and identity. This is because Angola was under the control of the Portuguese from 1575-1975. Students will be getting to know the history of how Kizomba came to be and also how to dance Kizomba.
We hope to see you Thursday at POD 60 at 6pm.

Kwesi was born in Ghana, West Africa.
Kwesi's dance and teaching career started in 1999 when he fell in love with a South African dance called Gumboots (known as Step Dance in North America). From 1999 to present, Kwesi has developed and perfected his renown teaching ability from his years of teaching classes at daycares, High Schools, Universities, Mental Health and Community Centres.

Kwesi is currently one of the most sought after Kizomba and Urban Kiz instructors in Ontario. Kwesi has taught at major Kizomba festivals and workshops in the Netherlands, Germany, Latvia, and different cities across Canada and the USA.

Kwesi's Kizomba and Urban Kiz school, TLC Kiz (Touch Less Connection Kiz- TLC Kiz), was created in 2015. TLC Kiz is the first and only Kizomba school in North America that focuses primarily on improving Leading and Following skills through “No contact” training. This unique style has given him notoriety across the different Kizomba and Urban Kiz scenes around the world. This unique teaching style has also given him close to 100, 5 star rating reviews from students across North America and Europe, on his page.

When Kwesi is not teaching classes in the GTA, he is often travelling across North America and Europe, pursuing his dance passion.
