It’s happening. It’s only the first week of December, but the race is on. I can see it in my clients and it's coming up in coaching sessions. The pressure, the final push to get so much done before the end of the year, the lack of time, the commitments, the invisible labour.
The good news, you already have the tools inside you to shift your energy, your attitude, and your thoughts this holiday season to stay above it and CREATE SPACE to enjoy it!!!
5 positive psychology coaching tips for the holidays
🟢 Gratitude Practice: Start or end each day by reflecting on at least 3 specific things you're grateful for. This scientifically changes your thought patterns. Take control of that.
🟢 Set Realistic Expectations: Manage expectations, recognizing that perfection is not attainable. Embrace the…gasp...imperfections as part of the holiday experience.
🟢Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself. Acknowledge any stress or challenges and respond with self-compassion, just as you would for a friend.
🟢Celebrate Achievements: Reflect on accomplishments and positive aspects of the holiday season. Did you get the perfect gift for someone that’s impossible to shop for? Take the time to recognise the small achievements for yourself and others.
🟢Mindful Gift-Giving: Focus on thoughtful gestures as much as possible. The act of thoughtful giving is contagious and enhances the well-being for both you as the giver and the receiver. Win win!
