Amazing first game. Everyone was determined to do something yesterday. Excited for the game, everyone reached early and practiced until the start of the game.
After losing the toss and opposition electing to bowl first, it was a slow and disappointing start. As five wickets fell quick putting up only 26 runs on the board, it seemed nearly impossible to come back from a slump like this. Now with 41 runs on the board and another wicket falling, our opening batsman, Ravi Kumar, still in was looking for support. That was provided by Meet and Amrit. Meet comes in and holds his wicket, while Ravi continues to give a hard time to the opposition bowlers. With Meet and Ravi's partnership of 50 runs for the team, it showed some hope. Meet contributed 10 runs with a defensive knock. Next with Amrit's 23 runs, Ravi and Amrit contributed another quick partnership of 46 runs for the team. Ravi finished the game with a masterful 70 runs, giving his wicket away in the last over while trying to finish the game strong for the team. Total runs put on the board with every single player's effort, encouragement and positivity was 154 runs.
With players now determined to defend the total, everyone was looking sharp while fielding and that put a lot of pressure on batsmen. Our two opening bowlers Yash and Dhaval finished the game for us. Yash picked up devastating 7 wickets and Dhaval banked in elegant 3 wickets, getting the opposition all out for just 24 runs.
