* _ IMPORTANT _ *
Before I relate MY recent experience I'd like to ask the good people out there what results they may have had asking for the same thing.
Specifically, did you ever get a parking ticket then call or email APS to have the photos that the officer took at the time the ticket was printed to be emailed or sent to you?
If so, what were you told? With what results?
Now please keep in mind I only need you to respond IF you've actually tried this and not what you THINK might happen or what you HEARD your brother's friend's uncle said.
In my case, the APS agent on the phone tried to tell me that they NEVER send the photos out. That I was NOT entitled to them.
That if I wanted to see them I had to physically travel to one of the seven parking ticket counters around the city with the ticket
and ask the clerk to bring up the photos on the screen and turn the screen so I could see them.
There may also have been some mention that I would have to pay for each printout. She wasn't sure.
It was only after I strenuously objected that she consulted with a manager and was told to email the manager who would process my request. This was done and I have the photos in PDF format.
Given how I was told at first that I was not entitled to them at all I started to question the legality of this policy.
Google "Exculpatory Evidence Canada" to see why.
If there are any lawyers or paralegals reading this that would like to weigh in on this topic it would be most welcome. If you'd like to remain anonymous message me directly and I can copy & paste your comments.
