Founded in 1972 by International Champion, author, lecturer and 9th Degree Black Belt Cezar Borkowski, Northern Karate Schools provide men, women and children with the opportunity to maximize their potential through martial arts study. At 12 locations in the GTA, thousands of men, women and children enjoy the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of NKS’ programs, 7 days a week, year-round.

September is always an exciting time, filled with promise, new beginnings, and change.

One bittersweet change this year is that one of our instructors will be heading out of town to university.

I first met Izzy when she joined NKS’ lunch-time school program over a decade ago. In the following years I have been able to see her grow from a shy white belt into a confident black belt, a caring teacher and most importantly, an awesome person.

The dojo will miss her quiet enthusiasm and welcoming spirit.

We look forward to seeing her again soon and hearing about her experiences.
