This has been a very busy wedding season! Today was the first time I have officiated a ceremony in a bike shop! A lovely young couple, surrounded by their friends and an exuberant dog. We even used the tool bench for signing the papers:) Here’s to life’s unexpected moments!! 💍🐶🚲🎉♥️

We are now in the full swing of wedding season and it’s proving to be another busy summer! I’ve been reflecting on the many wonderful couples I had the pleasure of marrying last year. From my two amazing nieces and my best friend’s daughter, also two sisters getting married within months of each other to the great privilege of marrying a 3rd member from the same family!

Each couple is special and I love it when they want to add their own touches in order to make their ceremony unique to them, by writing their own vows, including a hand fasting or ensuring we begin their ceremony with a Land Acknowledgement. Each one is unique and special, reminding me how thankful I am to get to do this as my job! Many Blessings to you all! ❤️❤️❤️

THERE WAS A TIME

There was a time I would have set myself on fire, to keep others warm.
There was a time I would have crossed oceans to reach people who wouldn’t cross a stream for me.
There was a time I would try, too hard, to be seen by those, who would simply never see me.
There was a time I felt myself unworthy of a person, who could actually never be worthy of me.
But not anymore.
You see my friend, there are many ways to spend your time on this earth
but wasting it on those who are not appreciative of your attention, is a crying shame.
Use your time wisely.
Save your best efforts for those who care.
For those who would return the favour or at least appreciate your attention.
Those who truly value you.
And the rest?
If they do not see you now, they never will.
And they are missing out.
Make this the time that you realise your time is precious and should only be bestowed on those who bring you comfort, positivity, support, love or joy.
Or all of the above.
Remember, you are the main act, not a warm up,
and this, my friend, is no dress rehearsal.
This is it.
The curtain is well and truly up.
Shine on.

Another gorgeous bride and groom and the second family wedding of the summer!! Thanks again to and for inviting me to officiate your ceremony. Your own backyard was the perfect location for this magical moment.

Then of course to the celebration on Saturday! You can always count on our family to show up on the dance floor! 🎉🕺❤️

All in the Family! ❤️
Many of the weddings I do are through referrals. But this one was extra special because I had the honour or officiating a third member of the same family!!
It all began in 2016, when I married Kia and Azadeh. Two years later, I officiated the marriage of their sister Azin to Aninda. Then just this summer I had the joy of marrying their cousin Ali and his lovely wife Carly!
What a beautiful and loving family. I am so happy to get to know them and share in their special day!! 💍🎉❤️

This has been a magical summer for weddings!!! I have also had the special joy of officiating the ceremonies for two of my beautiful nieces as well!

We had the joy of celebrating another new baby into the Rees family, as my beautiful niece Amanda is due in a couple of weeks. With such a long period of separation these past 2 years, opportunities to get together are even sweeter!

“Beauty means your soul’s fingerprint on the earth." -Alok

How has patriarchy shaped your definition of beauty? We are our most beautiful when we truly glow from the inside, sharing what is uniquely us with the world. When we do, we also give others permission to do the same!!

I just finished listening to We Can Do Hard Things podcast with and . Alok is a beautiful poet, performer and public speaker. So much from this episode spoke to me. I encourage you to listen to it then follow Alok on instagram or read their poetry!
