πŸš¨πŸ†•οΈ Video on my YouTube channel "Cycling Slim" πŸ†•οΈπŸš¨
For those of you who are new, back in 2015 (left image) I was around 310lbs and was just getting into cycling and the high carb vegan lifestyle! Fast forward 2 years and I got down to my lightest (165lbs)(right image) through consistent cycling and eating a healthy wholefoods plant based diet. During my cycling, my appetite increased and as did my stomach capacity, when I slowed down or even stopped training, I continued eating the same πŸ˜… but was hardly training! Well long and short was I gained like 55lbs through thinking I had adaptive thermogenesis, despite NOT having that. Luckily I saw sense before I had a heart attack or something! I have gotten back down to 200lbs and am consistently losing weight weekly, by the end of the summer I plan to be back in the 170lbs range and to begin calisthenics to build some nice lean muscle.

1200m Epic Climb In Thailand!
My first attempt up the infamous "Doi suthep" felt almost like it would be impossible to make it up, I ascended for what felt like a lifetime with several stops and found what I thought could of been a "halfway point" only to later find it was more like only 1/4 - 1/3 of the way up! Fast forward around 8 months to this picture and not only did I make it all the way up the 650m Doi suthep, but I continued up another much steeper 600m climb "Doi Pui". I was greeted with a spectacular view of a remote village down below and some fresh fresh above the dense smog from the city of ! The moral is here, NEVER give up! What may start off hard or seem almost impossible, with practice and time, not only will you master it, but you will look forward to even larger goals! The same can be said for the 10k runner or marathoner, from the couch, 10k may seem far to run none stop, but to the marathoner, 10k is a simple training run midweek! The same goes for the iron man, a marathon is just the icing on the cake for their 3.9km swim and 180k ride! You can do it, nothing can stop you πŸš€πŸ’ͺ🏻

to when I was riding down on of my favorite long, peaceful country roads in thailand. I lost the majority of my weight riding long on the regular between October 2015 and January 2016. I'm also somewhat of an unconventional cyclist, i'll wear a water bladder backpack, something which in the unwritten rules of road cycling seems forbidden. I also wear "sports socks" sometimes ankle length, sometimes ones about 1 or 2 inch above the ankle. I certainly don't buy overpriced "cycling socks". I would also use fenders on a road bike or mountain bike, another trend that seems to be taking off is road cyclist youtubers riding WITHOUT fenders and getting literal s**t πŸ’© splattered in their face, I'm talk to you and 🀣. I did most of my km's in running shorts, not bibs or lycra! My point here is, YOU DON'T NEED these fancy things to cycle and you don't have to follow whatever every other wearing roadie is doing to ride a bike. I think many will see it as some kind of deterrent or some elite club that only Laywers and Youtubers who get sponsored can be a part of, anyone can ride a bike, whether ur in running shorts, t-shirt and sneakers or you have a camelbak water bladder, just get the bike, get out and have fun πŸ˜ƒ. What do you do that's unconventional to the world of cycling? Let me know in the comments πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Just riding through nature πŸ˜πŸš΅β€β™‚οΈ
Took a quick selfie on an easy ride to end an easy week! This week, due to bad weather, I mostly hit the turbo trainer and I feel like I can't go over about 1 hour or 1 hour 30 on it, as it's so boring, even on or playing with the cycling mod enabled, does anyone else find this? I have still cycled for 9 hours though and tommorow will be my full rest day off the bike, but it'd interesting that now 9 hours feels like nothing to me as I've built up so gradually so that 12 or 15 feels somewhat consistent effort, but 10 feels like nothing. I wonder how 20 hours will feel this time around? I plan on making the most of this summer, and I may be able to get to some MUCH better roads too as we plan on leaving soon which have severely limited my cycling and even caused a hand injury due to severely awful quality roads unlike anything I've seen, even in which I thought their roads were awful 🀣.

to when I had a mountain bike and lived in and also was a little slimmer πŸ˜…. I'll get back to that pretty soon, but I'm loving having a road bike again and the challenges that brings and living in Canada with my lovely wife, where we plan to settle and set up an off grid remote living type situation 😌. P.s I still have this mountain bike but it's in England and I didn't bring it with me due to logistics. I'll ride it again some day πŸ˜ƒ

What a difference 2 years makes!
I fell in love with cycling and I used it as a tool to speed up my weight loss, adventure, have fun and meet all kinds of people! The picture on the left I weighed around 280lbs and the picture on the right around 180lbs. Nothing can substitute a healthy wholefoods plant based diet when it comes to weight loss, but combine this with long hours of cycling in fat burning zones such as 1 and 2 and you've got yourself an amazing recipe for rapid weight loss! I was able to trim 100lbs within 2 years, around 70-80 of that was within the first year. If you set your mind to it, you can do it!

πŸ›‘STOP SCROLLING IF YOU LOVE VIDEO GAMES & CYCLINGπŸ›‘
Some great modders have managed to mod so that you can ride your indoor trainer (with a power meter or a smart trainer) on your PC or Mac around the beautiful and almost timeless map of .
You will need the following to get started:
Grand theft auto 5 on PC or Mac
indoor trainer (smart if don't have power meter)
Power meter (if don't have smart trainer)
Bicycle suitable for trainer

It's a super awesome and FREE way to enjoy video games combined with cycling and fitness! The best part is, unlike it doesn't require a monthly membership, so if you're not interested in the online or social aspects of Zwift, as I'm not, then it perfect! Now it isn't as polished as Zwift ofc, but it really does get the job done, having done 3 rides now, I have to say, I'm impressed!

I would recommend a wireless controller or wireless keyboard to operate the game whilst on the trainer. It's SUPER easy to install too, it literally installs itself and can be found out www.gtbikeV.com
Hit me up in the comments If you'd like video content on this and more info!
