Richard Asante is the first Canadian player to be drafted by Toronto Football Club (TFC) in the 2007 Major League Soccer Super Draft. He was part of the Under 20 Canadian National Team who represented Canada in the FIFA World Youth Championships in Dubai in 2003. As the son of refugee parents from Ghana, Asante developed his talent from one of Toronto's toughest neighbourhoods to earn a soccer sch
olarship to Syracuse University. Given his background of challenges and success, Asante is determined and inspired to vision and give back to his community by establishing a full day Soccer program of Excellence, which will introduce, develop and sustain the soccer talents that are hidden in the community. He currently works as a Coach with the following clubs; Toronto Azzurri, Thornhill Soccer Club and Royal City Soccer Club after graduating as a Primary Junior Educator from York University and a Bsc in Science from Syracuse University U.S.A.
