Week 4 in Canada - 🇨🇦
FAMILY
Family is such a strange thing. It can be the source of so much love, but also so much pain. It's where we come from, where many of our strengths were born, and where some of our deepest patterns began too.
The highlight of this week was simply being together. Spending time with my 90-year-old uncle, talking, laughing, sharing meals with my cousins, their children and their dogs. It felt grounding in a way that's hard to explain.
Listening to family stories, hearing again about people who had to leave everything behind, who started over in a new country, who lived through uncertainty and loss, helped me understand a little more about myself. We inherit so much more than eye colour or a smile. We inherit resilience, fears, values, ways of seeing the world... and sometimes wounds that ask to be healed.
For me, looking back isn't about staying in the past. It's about understanding where I come from so I can choose more consciously what I carry forward.
There was something especially beautiful about sharing this week with my 90-year-old uncle while my daughter was celebrating her 10th birthday. Two milestone ages, two generations at opposite ends of life, and such a joy to witness the connection between them.
⁉️ Reflect:
Do you know the stories of the people who came before you? Has any of them changed the way you see yourself?
