Whether one on one or in a group class environment, Tony promotes a fun, safe way to become a fitter you via simple instruction and ongoing support.

Beyond his certifications, Tony’s interest and participation in Australian rules football, cycling, swimming, and baseball have provided him with an increased understanding of the way we move.

Tony believes exercise is a way of life, and truly enjoys helping others incorporate it into their lives. He specializes in weight loss, core training, strength and muscle toning, small and large group training, sports performance, injury prevention and recovery.

#15 on our 23 ways to get healthier in 2023 is to HAVE FUN! It’s too easy to make your exercise routine a chore. The problem is the moment it becomes just a chore, is the moment you get disengaged. Make it fun. Change it up. Do it with someone else. Don’t be afraid to not take things too seriously!

When I went to take this pic is was supposed to be for a different message but seeing Jason and DJ having such a good time w the challenge reminded me of how important it is to laugh and enjoy the act of movement.

#14 in our 23 ways to get healthier in 2023 is to CATCH SMALL PROBLEMS. It’s so easy when you start getting into a routine, to ignore the little warnings our bodies give us that things aren’t right. The problem is that left unattended, those little warning signs can become big problems that can put you on the sidelines and make 2023 seriously not so good.

Higher Ground really does have the answer. For everyone with a little concerning ache or pain or something that just isn’t moving quite right, go see our Sports Doc- Dr Tim Rindlisbacher. He has time for you, he’s an expert in diagnosing those little problems and steering you in the right direction, and his appointments are paid for by OHIP.

#13 on our list of 23 ways to get Healthier in 2023 is to Commit to Re-Balancing. We all spend too much time doing one thing or another. Left unchecked these habits will lead to repetitive Strain and injury. This year, develop a rebalancing strategy. This plan can include a good unique rebalancing class or a well crafted workout routine to do the job instead. It can also involve a quick series of at-home exercises you can do regularly.

Higher Ground can help by having one of our expert trainers set up a programme. We can also help with some key rebalancing classes like MoveStrong or Pilates. Let us know how we can help and let the rebalancing begin!

#12 on our 23 ways to get healthier in 2023 is to Try Something New! Just as getting into a good routine is important, it’s equally valuable to do something new once in a while too. Bodies and minds get tired of the same thing. Physically it’s called the adaptation process. Mentally, it’s called a rut! Mix it up by trying a new programme, a new activity, a new fun diversion, a new goal.

#11 on our list of 23 ways to be healthier in 2023 is to Take a Little Break once in a while! (The author may need to take his own advice here…) Technology has made us all able to be on the job 24/7. This is good for NO ONE! Take a little time out once in a while. Unplug. Focus on you.

Cardio-Go can help. We try to make our places an escape, so come, move your body a bit or just sit in a sauna or steam room, and have a coffee. Of course mini breaks are possible anywhere though so just do it!
