XSNRG Running Club provides weekly coached interval training to runners of all levels who want to improve their running abilities – by developing strength, stamina and speed – in a supportive and social environment. From beginners to accomplished competitive runners, no one is too slow or too fast to run with XSNRG – all you need is the desire to train and improve your running! The club meets in t
he Leaside area every Tuesday night at 6:30 pm to run to a different workout location each week, focusing either on speed intervals or hill training. Meeting Locations:
• May – September: Sunnybrook Park in the Sports Pavilion parking lot on the upper fields (park entrance is at Leslie Street north of Eglinton; drive through the park to the stables, and then drive/jog up the hill to the first lot on the left)
• October – April: Leaside High School, inside the main entrance and down one flight of stairs (entrance via Hanna Road off Eglinton and east of Bayview)
Structured Workouts Led by Club Coaches:
• warm-up run to our designated workout location (about 1 km)
• a few minutes of warm-up drills/stretches (As, Bs, Cs and strides)
• directions and coaching tips on form, technique, and the workout
• workout (about 5 km, or 20 minutes of work, excluding rest intervals)
• a few minutes of cool-down drills/stretches
• cool-down run back to our meeting location (about 1 km)
Social Events Include:
• Hot Chocolate Nights in the winter months
• Party in the Park in the summer months
• Christmas Party in December
• Membership Drive Party in May
