💰🥋Summer Camp Bursaries for Attendance Available - Submission **DEADLINE APRIL 16** / Bourses disponibles pour la participation au camp d’été - DATE LIMITE pour candidatures **LE 16 AVRIL**💰🥋

As a way to increase access to our Tier 1 events, the CAF has a longstanding bursary available for CAF Adult members who would require financial assistance to attend summer camp. Bursaries cover 100% of mat fees and partial travel costs. Please visit The CAF Bursary Program Policy and Nomination Form Document for all the details. Nomination forms and inquiries can be submitted via the nomination form. Ask your dojo-cho or the CAF secretary about applying!

Additionally to the above bursary, we are offering mat fee-only bursaries for:

-5x Dojo Instructors
-5x Adult member-students
-5x Youth member-students

Application form for the 2026 Summer Camp mat-fee bursaries available on the CAF website or contact the CAF Secretary for details.

**Nomination deadline for all bursaries is April 16 2026.

Afin de faciliter l'accès à nos événements de catégorie 1, la FCA offre depuis longtemps une bourse aux membres adultes de la FCA qui ont besoin d'une aide financière pour participer à un camp d'été. Les bourses couvrent 100 % des frais d'inscription et une partie des frais de déplacement. Veuillez consulter la politique du programme de bourses de la FCA et le document du formulaire de nomination pour tous les détails. We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Claude Berthiaume Shihan, Chief instructor of Aikido de la montagne (USAF) and an important figure, aikidoist and instructor in the Canadian Aikido community. We extend our most profound condolences to his family, friends, his students and all those who were privileged to know him and learn from him 🤍🕊️
C'est avec une profonde tristesse que nous avons appris le décès de Claude Berthiaume Shihan, instructeur en chef de l'Aikido de la montagne (USAF) et figure majeure, pratiquant et instructeur au sein de la communauté canadienne d'aïkido. Nous exprimons nos plus sincères condoléances à sa famille, à ses amis, à ses élèves et à tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître et d'apprendre à ses côtés 🤍🕊️

On this International Women’s Day, we acknowledge all the women and girls who practice aikido in BC and Canada and contribute to our dojos. We’d also like to acknowledge and celebrate Hilary Dawson sensei (6th Dan, Chief Instructor at UVic) being appointed to the Canadian Aikido Federation Examination Committee in 2025! This honour and responsibility reflect Hilary sensei’s high degree of technical excellence and long-time commitment to aikido development in Canada. Arigato gozaimasu and ganbatte to all the seasoned women warriors and young girls who teach and practice aikido in BC! �
