Four years ago today I attended Bodyattack training…❤️

This was the absolute best weekend of my life, the unexplainable only experienceable energy called Bodyattack love was at an all-time high!!!

Over those next three years I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to have my own class Fridays at 4:30 PM, to team teach and learn from some of the most amazing Bodyattack instructors, and to develop my instructor personality and share it with so many members!

Unfortunately today I no longer have a class on the schedule nor am able to sub Bodyattack, it’s still is and will always be my favourite class to teach and my favourite workout! I will never forget all of the amazing people in my training and the impact they made, especially Fred, that weekend!

Here’s to hopefully getting a class on the schedule in another 4 years after my second degree! 🤞🏼 And perhaps expanding to RPM, Grit and Sprint sometime in the future:)

Twenty-Two✨🙈

It’s my birthday! 21 brought so many wonderful opportunities that I am so grateful for, getting my first spin instructor position at McMaster, starting my spin channel, the real start of my lifting journey and more! I thought I’d share a few things I learned related to health and fitness over the course of 21!

🎉 Missing a few workouts will not affect your longterm progress at all
🎉 Doing the workouts you enjoy will keep you consistent, and these workouts can change overtime
🎉 Trust the process, anything that promises short term results either doesn’t work or doesn’t last and leaves you worse off
🎉Perfect your form. Then add reps. Then add weight. No ego lifting.

Hope one of these resonate with you😁Excited for the opportunities to come being 22 and what I will learn from them as well!

Welcome to my (student) home gymmm❤️

This set up has been my little sanctuary over the lockdown, 2020, 2021 and 2022, while in uni.

I bought a spin bike, I have some adjustable dumbbells, a few yoga mats, my kb, resistance bands, a foam roller, other release tools, a lil bit of space and of course a mirror. It’s not a complete gym of course but I am so grateful for what I do have🥰

This is a little reminder to keep pushing through while the gyms are closed and to make the most of and appreciate what you do have😋

😋Happy Sunday Team😋

I hope your weekend was wonderful! Tomorrow for week 3 we are taking on a 30 minute dumbbell HIIT workout, grab a light pair of dumbbells and I will see you at 10:30am!

This week things are getting just a little bit more busy, into the fourth week of classes. I have some midterms, keeping up with classes, as well as fitting in those workouts + content creating. For most, I find self-care and the 'fun' things are always the first to give, however those are the things that will help keep your stress levels to a minimum and keep the days enjoyable. Be sure to make time for you, and be forgiving to yourself if you don't check off everything on your to do list. The best way to do so is to plan what is going on in your day!

Wishing you a productive and fulfilling week!

PREP

Happy Sunday Team!

Tomorrow 10:30am is week 2 of our 16 week HIIT challenge! The workout is going to be bodyweight, I cannot wait for you to try it!

Anyways, I wanted to share a few tips for I like to prepare for my week in order to set myself up to have a healthy start!

1. PLAN WORKOUTS

Lets be honest, during the week it can get very busy and for most the first thing to go is the workout, the best way to stay accountable is to take 5 minutes on Sunday to write down what workouts you will be completing Monday to Friday!

2. MEAL PREP/PLAN

Food is our fuel, I like to pre-prepare my lunch and dinners 2 days in advance, it is so much more convenient to simply grab something healthy in the middle of a busy day or after a long day of work instead of reverting to Uber eats.

3. JOURNAL

Reflecting on the past week allows me to prepare for the upcoming week, to appreciate what I have just completed, as well as set myself up to be productive in school and in terms of my indoor cycling + personal Youtube channels! If you need journal prompt ideas msg me!

Try putting these tips to use and throughout the week try and be mindful as to if they help in any way!

Have an absolutly wonderful week!

🚲 Over the past four months of Summer 2021 I poured my heart into creating Ride With Alina, my indoor cycling Youtube channel. My goal starting the channel was to create challenging, well delivered, educational, easy to follow and fun spin classes for anyone and everyone no matter where they live in the world.

From May to August I created 13 spin classes, our community has grown and I am so thankful for each and every person who gave my classes a shot, it truly means the world to me! I remember preparing for the first class, I had literally practiced it over 5 times before filming, and of course have refined and accelerated the production algorithm!

Feel free to check out the classes, link in bio, provide your feedback and subscribe if you enjoy a class, because at the end of the day I am doing this for all the athletes out there looking for a great sweat and I am willing to do whatever it takes to continue to evolve and progress!

I plan to continue to create more and more spin classes in the coming years on the channel while progressing as a coach!

Hello 👋🏼

It is already the end of August and going into September I am going back to school!! Since this is my fourth time around going to university I wanted to share some thoughts.

Over the course of the summer I have been very active and I have gotten into a routine which I absolutely love! With only one more week left until I go back to school I know My current routine is going to change.

I would be lying if I said the thought of changing my ever so perfect routine wasn’t causing me anxiety. But anxiety is a completely normal feeling, it is your body‘s way of preparing for change and staying alert.

I am confident that I will build a productive routine throughout the school year that includes everything I value. And for the time being in order to reduce my anxiety I find the best way is to do a little bit of planning, write down a list of staples in my life that will always be included in my schedule (workouts, self-care) while recognizing that these things may present in different ways.

Overall it is important to be able to adapt to new stages of your life in order to make the most of them while still prioritizing those staple activities that mean a lot to you.
