“You don’t realize it’s the piece of your life that you’re missing until you find it.”

- Mary on finding and her spark again by focusing on BUILDING HERSELF UP💛 instead of trying to “shrink” herself down with diets.

I’m so friggin proud of you Mary for escaping a 30+ year cycle of dieting and restriction attached to self-doubt and a lack of confidence.

This transformation is SO far beyond the physical 10lbs weight loss and inches lost around the waist.

For Mary, this is a transformation of mind and spirit - the beginning of the rest of her life of building, taking up space and celebrating herself rather than shrinking away and getting small.

If you’re on the edge, take Mary’s advice…

“You always feel like there’s never a right time in your life, but there is… it’s right now. Right in this minute. Do it now.”

✨✨✨

Carbs = getting shredded.

If you’re trying to lose weight and/or get shredded, it will be easier to do eating carbs than avoiding carbs.

Even if you manage to cut carbs and keep them cut for an extended period of time, you will not look as tight, toned or defined as if you eat the right amount of carbs for your body.

You will also not have as much energy, strength, or libido.

More than likely though, you’ll cut for a few weeks then binge cuz our bodies like carbs 🙃

So CAN you lose weight by cutting carbs? Sure.

Is it the best way for most women? Absolutely not.

Take it from my girl Carmen, who’s spreading the word and coaching women herself now 👉

She’s a woman on a mission and I’m beyond proud of her! Keep an eye out for this powerhouse in the coming issues of 👀💪

THAT POSTURE AND ATTITUDE SHIFT THO 🚀💃🏻👀

Nicole and I have been in touch on social media for SEVEN YEARS! She’s been implementing lots of healthy habits along the way, but when we launched our most recent group challenge, she finally took the leap and is executing the program like a champ…

Just 4 weeks in and she says she’s “sleeping better, and seeing more muscle definition.”

More muscle definition is right 👀💪

Like.. excuse me..? That woman on the right is not the same woman as on the left…

Mama on the right is confident and strong. She knows she can do hard things and knows this is her lifestyle FOREVER.

Standing taller isn’t just mindset either - we’re actively strengthening the muscles in her posterior chain and core to improve posture, performance and definition (creating that X-Frame).

Not to mention the 5 inches gone from around her waist ⌛️👀

And the best part? She says:

“I didn’t think it would be this easy…”.

And that’s exactly how it should feel…

Not EASY to shift your habits and schedule to support your goals, but the actual food and workouts may surprise you 😉

You shouldn’t feel like you’re on a *diet* or *program* - that’s the goal for all our girls by the end of our Transformation Program.

Though not completely without challenges… we’re working on incorporating more variety into Nicole’s meals and being prepared for when life inevitably throws her off.

But it’s allllll about making sure this is something she can keep doing forever — because we know it works!

I just had to share this win today - I literally emailed Nicole these pics this morning and asked for permission to share because I want you to see what can happen in a short period of time when you narrow your focus on executing a plan — and how easy it can be if you commit to making it a lifestyle you LOVE 💛

So proud of you Nicole! Can’t wait for more updates 🥳👏

DO IT SH*TTY✔️😂 ok do it sh*tty… **until you can do it better**

⚠️OK THIS MAY SEEM SO OPPOSITE TO MY USUAL LEVEL UP MESSAGE, BUT HERE ME OUT⚠️

MOTIVATION is one of one those weird things that comes and goes.. and an excuse I always used to give myself was that if I couldn’t “do it right” I might as well not do it at all…

But this is a HORRIBLE mindset for establishing a health and fitness routine..

Because if I waited for the “optimal” time or until I felt *my best*, I’d never do anything 🥲😂

DO IT SH*TTY.

I mean it…

Only way to get a workout in is to do a “sh*tty one”? — do it.

Only way to meal prep is to do it half ass, for whatever reason? — do it.

Only way to eat healthy is to do it half way? — do it!

Health isn’t all or nothing.

Every little bit counts.

Don’t let not being able to do it perfectly stop you from doing it at all.

Half-ass is better than no ass … ? 🤔

Don’t let not being able to do it perfectly or “the best” stop you from trying!

Once you’re on a roll with the basics or even just being consistent - even if they’re sh*tty workouts or sh*tty attempts at meal prep - get started and THEN you can worry about all the other stuff and get technical / more complex.

But keep it as simple and easy as possible at first ✅🙏

And if necessary, do it sh*tty to get er done 👊

Whatever your health and fitness goals are, approach them with a GROWTH mindset.

Not with the intention to make yourself smaller.

But with a belief in yourself that you are worthy of taking up MORE space and growing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Get strong.

Use that strength and confidence to take up space in other areas of your life.

Feel the freedom, strength and self-assurance that anything is within your reach (with the right action plan and ex*****on).

Become not only the main character, but the author, and write your story exactly as YOU want to.

🚀🚀🚀

Start by shifting to a growth mindset 🙏

A lot of people come to me to “lose that last 10 lbs” or have already made some progress but want to get even shredded…

Why IS it so hard to push past plateaus and achieve that next level look that seems to elude you?

Well, straight up… most people are not being specific enough with their training and nutrition approaches…

…even people who are fitness instructors and coaches themselves.

In fact, often it’s fitness pros, medical professionals, experienced lifters and people crushing fitness classes 6x/week who struggle with getting their bodies to respond…

Because it’s hard to focus on only your own training when you’re teaching classes and coaching a bunch of other people and being a mom and doing a bunch of stuff —

Which is exactly where was when she reached out…

She was doing all the right things for her personal health on top of teaching fitness classes and coaching her clients - she knows what to do, as a fitness pro herself.

But she wasn’t focused enough with her training and nutrition for the definition and tightness she was looking for (I.e. fitness model conditioning).

Handing her goals over to me, I took in all her data and lifestyle, history, hurdles, etc and developed an EXACT game plan for her to execute.

And execute she did…

Down about 10 lbs and 5 inches around her waist since early September, we’re NOT focusing on getting smaller..

In fact, we had been adding calories to our original meal plan, which was a modest deficit, up until a couple weeks ago when we started her cut for her photoshoot next week!

A shoot for STRONG Fitness mag 👀

I’m SO excited for her to have this opportunity and I can’t wait to share with you her shots and eventually - the publication!! 🙊

For Mel, losing that last 10 lbs came down to stepping back from trying to control everything and executing a nutrition and training plan designed to build muscle.

Stay tuned for her shoot next week 👀🙊🥳

This isn’t a “how to work it off” post 🤢

It’s a “how we would enjoy to make sure we don’t feel restricted and enjoy all parts of life” post! 🍫🍬🐣

We know there are going to be extra treats around this weekend and if you feel tempted or restricted..

We have this thing called a post-workout (or PWO) which can help with energy and recovery after a workout!

There used to be a ton of literature about consuming carbs to replenish glycogen stores and improve hypertrophy within a 20-60 min anabolic window after training but new data suggests this window MIGHT not be as important as we thought.

‼️BUT‼️this doesn’t mean we throw the strategy out the window‼️

Like I said, eating carbs and protein after training CAN still help with energy and recovery.

PLUS when you’re having that fight in your head with yourself whether to workout or not, having a sweet treat waiting for you on the other side is a HUGE motivator.

Traditionally, we’d suggest fast-digesting carbs like fruit/juice, oatmeal, rice/potatoes.

But most of us aren’t professional athletes or bodybuilders - and having having the *cleanest/fastest-digesting* carbs isn’t always the best choice for lifestyle or longterm adherence…

Something sweet/delicious after a workout can be JUST the thing to not only get you to do the workout, but will keep you going forever..

NOT because of one little treat, but because every time you eat something that you may have considered “bad” before, you reinforce your food freedom and create a lifestyle you can do FOREVER…

WHILE working out and making progress👌

So you can try to eliminate all these treats and only eat *clean* and organic and try to be perfect.. but if this hasn’t worked for you in the past, and you’re tired of trying to cut everything out and need to find balance:

🌷Enjoy 1-2 servings on Easter (if you can get a workout in, awesome, if not, hopefully you can enjoy some nice spring weather ☀️)!

🌷THEN, plan to have any extras for PWOs for the week - package them up, and put them away with the rest of your meal prep for the week.

HAVE AN AMAZING LONG WEEKEND FAM 💐🌷🥳☀️
