Toronto West Athletics A running club for youth ages 8 and older with a focus on mid to long distance.

Toronto West Athletics (TWA) is a mid to long distance running club with the mission to one day produce an Olympic champion. The coaches at TWA are all former competitive runners and between them have many decades of coaching experience. Our vision is to provide a coaching and training environment to help aspiring distance runners achieve their full potential. Our club offers a range of training p

rograms, starting with our developmental program suitable for children entering Grade 3 all the way to a university program for highly competitive athletes.

High school track is in full swing. A few highlights from the invitational 800m and mile races. Olivia and Marisa ran PBs for 5th and 8th in 2:18.09 and 2:23.45. Some exciting racing in the mile. Shoutout to the rabbit ! The boys raced hard with Owen taking 3rd in 4:22.39 and Juan 4th in 4:22.55. Congrats to everyone on the starts to their season 👏👏 #800

7 athletes made the trip to New York to race on the historic Armory Track!
Our middle school girls start us off with the Mile. Daniela led the way with a bronze medal (by .06 seconds) and club U16 and provincial U15 records with 5:00.10 🚨
Vivienne had a strong performance for 24th place in 5:28.25
Emme had a great race for 15th and an indoor PB in the Freshman mile in 5:17.52
Maya placed 9th in the Emerging Elite 2 mile setting 2 club U18 records! 10:52.26 2 mile and 10:07.00 3000m on route 🚨
Our emerging elite 4x800m team experienced heartbreak after the officials missed our lead runner, Alexandra, falling off the track in the first 20m after a chaotic start!! They all continued on and did their best. Great work girls 👏👏
Shoutout to the parents who helped organize hotels and team dinners and coaches Jill and Geoff for preparing and supporting the athletes.
