I want to take a moment to give a huge shout out to the fans at Sauble Speedway .
After this past weekend, I heard so many stories about fans cheering me on, and I can't tell you how much that means to me. Thank you all for the incredible support!
I heard the cheers when I picked up my heat race win. 🙂 I also heard about some fans who decided to leave after seeing me get wrecked in the second heat, thinking my night was over. When word spread that I had managed to get back on track, they turned around and hurried back to their seats to catch the rest of the race. That's pretty awesome! And to the fans stopping by the merch tent asking, "Got any merch for the #25?" — thank you!
My favourite fan moment of the weekend involved a young girl who picked up several Keaton Pipe Racing items from the OLCS merch tent. Her dad mentioned that next time they come to the track, they were planning to get pit passes so they could find me and have me sign the hero card she received with her merch.
Thankfully, my mum overheard the conversation and came straight to the pits to tell me. I was so happy to head out to the grandstand area, meet them both, sign her hero card, and thank her personally for her support. Seeing how excited she was absolutely made my day.
Even after a frustrating finish to my final race, moments like these remind me how lucky I am to do what I do. The support from the fans is something I never take for granted, and it's what helps put a smile on my face no matter how the racing goes.
Thank you again, Sauble Speedway fans. You were amazing, and I can't wait to see you all again in August.
