Last month we hosted the Canadian Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu seminar, led by the 12 soke, Kajiya Takanori - sensei. This event was extremely special with our guests from the US who soke has given Mutokai School of Traditional Japanese Sword Arts the permission to start a study group in Minnesota.

A lot was shared and more details were given to continue our development in the practice of the seiho and a better understanding of the teachings left to us by Miyamoto Musashi - sensei's Go Rin No Sho.

Thank you to all who attended, practice diligently and we are looking forward to the next time we can meet for keiko.

On March 15 and 16 we attended the MAWW XI weekend hosted by Hanshi Marceau and his dojo Marceau's Martial Arts.

Sensei's Shane and Andy taught two workshops that weekend, giving an introduction to Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu to the participants and a demonstration of some of the seiho of the system.

Thank you Hanshi Marceau for organizing the event, Sifu Rupert Harvey and Sihing Kris for arranging to have us participate, the members of Golden Harmony Kung Fu for their added support, the other instructors and to all the attendees.

Huge congratulations to with securing a deal on the most recent episode of Dragon's Den.

We were asked to put together an action sequence to demonstrate their craftsmanship and it was a fun time using their swords, and showing our skills to the dragon's. Our demo didn't make the final cut for the episode, but you have to admit that this promo picture from the shoot is pretty bad ass.

On Saturday November 2nd and Sunday November 3rd hosted the annual Canadian seminar led by our soke, Kajiya Takanori sensei.

Things were done differently compared to the seminars in the past which resulted in a smaller group, allowing there to be more focus on specific seiho that are not covered in the previous Canadian seminars.

It was a great event with a lot of feedback provided by Kajiya sensei. Thank you to for hosting this event, and thank you to Kajiya sensei for his patience and guidance as we strive to improve our practice and understanding of Hyōho Niten Ichi Ryu.

Excellent keiko with our guests and Kingston Niten Kai, reviewing the points from the recent international seminar held in Slovakia. The notes shared by helped with providing more insight in how we practice the seiho, and the intention of each person's role when practicing seiho.

As the only 3 clubs that are members of the HNIR international community, we have a responsibility to maintain a high level of practice and demonstrate the seiho's to meet the expectations of our soke.
