Hey Northern Strength Family!

We want to say a massive THANK YOU for being the absolute best fitness community in Nipawin. To show our appreciation, we’re throwing a backyard-style bash, and you’re invited!

• When: Tonight! Tuesday at 6:00 PM June 23rd
• Where: Northern Strength Fitness Studio
• Cost: FREE!

🍔 Burgers & Buddies
We are flipping free burgers for all of our amazing members! Want to bring your crew? Friends and family are absolutely welcome to eat for free too—they just need to be accompanied by a Northern Strength member to snag their complimentary burger.

🥗 Semi-Potluck Style
We’ve got the burgers covered, but it’s a semi-potluck! If you have a favorite side dish, salad, or dessert you’d love to share, feel free to bring it along. (No pressure at all, though—just your appetite is plenty!)

This is the contrast most people figure out after months of spinning their wheels. Cardio burns calories during the session. Strength training builds muscle, and muscle raises the amount your body burns at rest.

Over weeks and months, that difference compounds in a way that cardio on its own rarely matches. That does not mean cardio is useless. It means the foundation matters.

When you build strength first, cardio becomes a tool you add on top, not the whole plan. A few things worth knowing before you shift your approach: Strength training two to three times a week is enough to start seeing changes in how your body feels and functions.

You do not need to lift heavy from day one. Controlled reps with moderate weight, done consistently, build the base.

Progress comes from adding a little more over time, not from exhausting yourself every session. If weight loss is the goal, strength training is one of the most sustainable ways to get there.
