As we get back in the gym with classes running again at full force, we would like to take the time to congratulate our London Cup 2026 team. Our team consisted of 6 boxers, 3 coaches and 1 boxer who also coached.
Henry Sauve, our youngest fighter that was brought to the tournament, competed in the Youth Funbox, 32-34kg division. Henry demonstrated great skills and emotional control. Great exhibition match Henry!
Chase Raymond-Fournier, competing in his first ever bout let alone tournament, scored the gold medal for the U13, 42-44kg division. Great match, winning by stoppage in the first round. Good job Chase!
Jeremy Orbell, Competing in his first match and tournament, he competed in the U17, 57-60kg division. Jeremy won his first match by stoppage in the second round, but unfortunately lost his second match by stoppage in the second round. Jeremy demonstrated good knowledge and passion for the sport, always asking coaches questions in order to improve his game. Good job Jeremy!
Max Dupuis, also competing in his first bout and tournament, Competing in the U19, 60-65kg division. Max lost in a split decision, Max put up a great fight and maintained control of his emotions throughout. Great job Max!
Tyron Sutherland, competing in his first London Cup tournament, competing in the U19, 60-65kg division. Although he put up a tough fight against a good opponent, he lost in a unanimous decision. Despite the loss he showed good sportsmanship and put in great effort. Great job Tyron!
Coach Evan, competing in the Elite 65-70kg division, brought home a silver medal. Winning his first match by unanimous decision, then unfortunately losing in the finals in a unanimous decision against Boomerz own fighter. What a great match despite the loss. Great job Evan!
Michelle Gillies, competing in the 65-70kg elite division, unfortunately she lost by referee stoppage.
To the parents of our boxers, thank you for all your support and encouragement from near and far. Thank you for your support while training in order to get ready for the tournament, and also during the tournament for taking pictures, videos' and supporting all the boxers!
To Boomerz boxing club, thank you for organizing a great successful tournament!
Cheers to the 2026 Ontario Novice Tournament, where we did not only come back closer as a team but with a suitcase full of laughter, tears, learnt lessons, victories, defeats but most importantly as a bigger family.
