The Tillsonburg Rowing Club, is seeking a Volunteer Rowing Coach to work with our Junior Rowing program and Learn to Row athletes. The Volunteer Rowing Coach will be directly accountable to the TRC Board of Directors and will work closely with the Club Captain for decision making and guidance.

Ideally, you will bring several years of competitive rowing and coaching experience to this position. Your primary responsibility will be to execute 3-4 practices per week on and off the water with one or more boats of athletes under your supervision. You should have a solid command of the rowing stroke and feel comfortable helping young rowers understand and perform the stroke correctly. You should be able to condition athletes both physically and mentally - with attention to developing independent motivation within individuals and the team in an inclusive environment.
Required Certifications Include:
1. NCCP Coach Initiation in Sport (online module)
2. NCCP Learn to Row Coach Workshop
3. Pleasure Craft Operators Card
4. Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
5. Respect in Sport
6. Standard First Aid and CPR C
Any successful candidate who does not possess all of the above listed requirements, will be supported by the TRC to complete the required certifications with financial assistance.
Alternatively, if you are a collegiate or masters level rower with little coaching experience who is looking to remain engaged in the sport we encourage you to consider coaching as an option and would offer assistance in helping you achieve the above listed requirements.
