Crisp air, golden leaves, and sunshine all day long. Fall in the boreal doesnβt get much better than this.
Our Wolfpack kicked off the morning with an adventure through the forest, then settled in to sharpen their wood carving skills. Steady hands, focused minds, and some impressive progress! πͺ΅πͺ A quick round of Animal Headbands followed before our drop-in families arrived for the afternoon.
This afternoon was Kids Carpentry, and this termβs project was a big one: trail bridges! Anyone whoβs walked our trails in spring knows there are a few soggy spots, so the kids set out to fix that. Working in teams, they measured, lined up the pieces, drove screws, and built their bridges step by step until each one was solid and complete. Then out came the paint π¨ so every group could add its own personal touch.
Why does it matter? In a world of quick taps and screens, building something real teaches patience, teamwork, and problem solving. Taking a project from the first board to the final brushstroke gives kids the pride of saying, βWe made that.β
And these bridges are here to stay, keeping boots dry on the Tapiola trails for years to come. Next spring, our builders can walk across their own work! π
Thank you to all our families for joining us.
