I am in fact *always* fine. Just don’t ask me to pick anything up off the floor without dropping it low first

It’s been 2 weeks since my emergency trip. I’d say I’m back to like 60%. Im not going to go deadlift 100lb + anytime soon but I put my socks on with minimal trouble today and the nerve pain is quite low. I’ve got a big coffee, a cinnamon twist, all the cool peeps are booked in today and it’s my Last day before I head to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 for a few weeks. 7 appts LFG. 👏🏻

Can you do half these stability ball moves while your back is flared up?
It’s not always the core! Sometimes it is, sometimes it’s stress, sometimes it’s a horrible injury, a seemingly minor injury, sometimes it’s a new routine or LACK of routine. There’s never usually just one reason for back pain. More Core strength isn’t gonna hurt, but I don’t think it’s *my* problem, sometimes 💩 just happens 🤷🏼‍♀️😙

Day 5/6 *probably* L5/S1 disc herniation. How do I know? Because:
1. It’s been building for years
2. I felt an obvious, extra-spicy “Zing” of pain at the time
3. Absolute text-book nerve pattern for L5/ S1 that, at the time was so Inflamed I couldn’t feel it.

What are we doing about it?
1. Anti-Inflammatories. Im all for natural but sometimes, you gotta take the drugs man!
2. Heat/ baths
3. Movements I can tolerate. Not even stretches, just wiggling hips around slowly and walking.
4. Minimizing bending/ twisting. If my husband reads this, I’m waiting for you to vacuum 😚
5. Time. I’m confident it’ll heal properly.

What are they for?
That’s probably another video. BUT. In a nutshell, I mostly use them for getting into abdominal tissue. Laying flat on the ground, ball in your stomach where ever you feel tension, stay still and relaaaaax. Initially it can feel horrible and make you feel panicked or anxious, it’s pretty crazy. That sensation does ease fairly quick usually.
Great for low back pain, scar release, people that clench/ hold their breath, people that need help going to the bathroom 🙂‍↕️.
I very much enjoy using them in barre/ yoga sculpt too for actual exercise 😈
