Facility Closure for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, Lakehead Athletics pauses to honour the Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the families and communities who continue to live with the impacts of the residential school system.

Truth and Reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. It calls on us to listen, learn, reflect, and take action—not only today, but throughout the year.

As a community brought together through sport, we recognize the important role athletics can play in creating spaces for connection, learning, respect, and relationship-building.

Today, we remember. We listen. We learn. And we commit to continuing the work of reconciliation.

🧡 Every Child Matters.
