Image has been blessed with wonderful dancers and quietly strong leadership over its many years.

We especially thrive on the joy of seeing our members move in beauty and freedom, which came as a surprise to some of them. Many audience members have told us how moved they have been by our dancers’ performances.

The Arts speak to our souls and Image aims to support the inner health of its members, as well as the people who see our performances. Movement is life.

Very happy to welcome new and returning dancers to our classes.

There is still time for you to join, or try a class for free. Just show up at the studio. We recommend clothing that is easy to move an stretch in. We dance barefoot on a special floor, but if you need extra foot support, you can wear dance oxfords or indoor-only runners. It's good to bring water as well.

CHOREOGRAPHY BASICS

Where do the ideas for a dance or set of movements come from ?

Sometimes it is a piece of music that inspires, a piece of writing or art, a feeling, an idea. The choreographer draws from these but need not try to incorporate every musical phrase, word, or image into a dance. And what it “means” may well be different for the creator, the dancers and each person who sees it.

Creativity is broad and varied.
