Been getting some questions about the trails and my set up. So here’s pics of the loop I did today at lunch. Conditions were good.

Started at the high school. Zipped to the ski hill. Accessed the river. Looped back to station road. Ivan saw a linx there the other day. I attached a pic.

I’m rocking the backcountry skis. Little bit wider then classics. With the fish scales on the bottom.

Well, we may not be running out of the golf course anymore but the back trails from the high school to the pumphouse road are great. It was such a nice day today. Happy to get my daughter out for an after school ski.

After 2 weeks of careful consideration I have decided end grooming of the cross country ski trails at the golf course. This year has been a difficult year with the winds and the sugary snow. The layout and openness of the course has basically left it either wind swept or drifted in.

I have been bringing my class behind eastgrove and the CP yard trails to ski. There is a solid group of individuals who have been grooming and expanding these trails. I have decided that I am going to shift my focus to helping groom and maintain these trails as they are more protected from the wind and are "more packable". They are a multi-use trail however my own personal interest have also shifted to backcountry from skate skiing. For the times want to skate ski I have decided I'll drive to Whitesand.

I'm glad I tried to make it happen at the golf course and love the views when I'm skiing but it's just unreasonable to given the openness of the course.

I'm looking forward to helping maintain the trails behind eastgrove. See you outside!

Hello skiers!

I was able to get out and roll the x country ski trails down at the golf course today! Snow is super sugary so I’m asking that all users please stay off the trail for the time being. Looks like there’s a warm front coming in Saturday which will allow the trails to harden up.

Just a friendly remainder to please not walk, snowshoe, or snowmachine on the trails.

Looks like Superior Cross Country Ski Club is open so please support our volunteer run trails by purchasing a membership. Info can be found on their FB page.

Hello ski community!

Just wanted to give everybody an update on the status of the trail and some general information.

First off, I have yet to groom the trail this year. With the snow rain mix there hasn’t been enough of a base to warrant me grooming. Further as it is a golf course I want to ensure that there’s sufficient snow so I don’t ruin the grass.

Secondly, I will not be grooming the trail until after the new year. Between family plans and travel plans I will not be able to commit the time to groom. However upon my return in the new year I am definitely going to start grooming again.

Third, if you do want to get out and ski I know that Superior Cross Country Ski Club our sister site is trying to reopen soon. That location will be available as well.

Please support our clubs by purchasing a membership. Information can be found through the superior cross country ski club.
