One more Week until pre-camp starts for our staff. In the meantime, they've kept busy keeping up their paddling skills!

The 2026 Spring Crew took some much needed breaks from working hard on site projects to enjoy some paddling. A weekend on the Opeongo and Upper Mad followed by a day on the Temagami River a few weeks later (It was soooo high!)

Tell us what you're doing to get excited for the season?

At Camp Wanapitei even our youngest campers have a choice between a shorter or longer program, so you can squeeze in time on the land no matter how packed your summer is!

For those who want a more lengthy trip, we have programs like our 4-week Way Finder (pictured here). These 12 and 13 years olds travel all the way to Georgian Bay!

💧Jump (or get thrown) into the adventure of a lifetime at Camp Wanapitei

🌲 Give the gift of a summer on n'Daki Menan and away from their screens to a young person in your life.

🛶 Our Temagami (10-11YO) and Way Finder (12-13YO) programs offer the perfect introduction to canoe tripping. Show them a summer they'll never forget!

Thank you to everyone who came to the hockey tournament this weekend!

The Wanapitei Trippers held their ground were an amazing 3-1 record! Way to show them what we're made of and that hockey, like canoe tripping is always a team sport!

🚨 Outward Bound Canada's Thais Freitas wrote a piece in The Globe and Mail today — "Time in the wilderness can break teens’ fixation on phones" — that we kept nodding along to. 📱

Her observation: the first couple of days off-screen feel heavy. Then around day three or four, something shifts. There's weather ahead. Firewood to be gathered. Campfire songs to be sung. Kids and teens stop checking their empty pockets and become at peace with themselves and the wilderness. Real conversations and connections soon follow. 🥰

She calls it the shift from "passive user to active leader." We've watched it happen at Camp Wanapitei on Lake Temagami for ninety-five summers running.🌲🛶

➡️ When was the last time you went a day, 2 days, or even 3 days without your phone? How'd it go?

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our 95th Anniversary celebration in Peterborough last weekend!

It was a special opportunity for everyone to get together, share stories, catch up with old friends, and maybe make some new ones too.

If you attended, tell us what your favourite part was!
