Go Leah 🤩🐴❤️

⭐⭐⭐Leah Cort & Hamilton D’Inca⭐⭐⭐

Leah Cort lives in Windsor, ON and trains at the Windsor-Essex Equestrian Centre. She’s been Eventing for 3 years and is looking forward to competing at the North American Eventing Young Rider Championship (NAYC) for the first time this year. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the 2026 team, qualified at the CCI1* level! 🤩

“I am extremely excited to meet other young Canadian athletes and spend a week with incredible people and horses who love eventing…My goal for the season is to improve at the CCI1* level with Hamilton and be able to polish our performance at events. My favourite part of eventing is seeing progress at each show and getting to travel with my horse.” ~ Leah Cort

Leah will be riding her horse, Hamilton D’Inca (Hamilton/Hammy/Ham). Hamilton is a 9-year-old Selle Français gelding who has been her Eventing partner for close to 2 years.
🐴 Favourite treat: Hamilton loves all treats and will eat almost anything; one of his favourites is bananas.
🐴 Fun fact: “The funniest thing about my horse is definitely when he shows you where he wants scratches and moves so that you are standing where he wants to be itched.” 😂 ~Leah Cort

Leah is grateful for her family, her coach Xavier Traisnel, and her incredible barn community for their constant support and encouragement which, together, have built a positive environment allowing her to grow and achieve this goal.

She’ll be accompanied to Maryland by her mother and her coach. Elise Traisnel will assist Leah’s mum as groom. In addition to this great support team, Leah wants to thank Hamilton for being a loyal partner, keeping her safe, and helping her make it to the 2026 NAYC.

🎉🎉🎉Congratulations to Leah and her team — wishing them the very best in Maryland!🎉🎉🎉

We’re hiring in September!

We’re looking for someone to join our team in a combined role that includes some teaching and barn work (feeding, turnout, blanketing, and general daily horse care, no mucking out required).

We run a busy, well established kids’ lesson program focused on safe, quality horsemanship for beginner to intermediate riders. We’re also eventing focused and regularly attend jumper and dressage shows.

This is a full time position with a set weekly schedule, including some evenings and weekends. The role can be flexible and has the potential to evolve into mostly teaching over time. Horse experience is important, and teaching experience is a bonus, but we’re happy to find the right fit. There may be an opportunity to bring your own horse.

We offer a supportive team environment, competitive pay based on experience, consistent hours, and paid vacation.

We are located in Windsor, ON. Check out our website at www.windsorequestriancentre.org
