Looking for some good news today?

I decided to compare 2024 Chinook Salmon run to 2026. There is a 7 year moratorium on fishing on the Yukon River except for ceremonial purposes and we are a few years in.

Maybe it is working, maybe there is a bigger run as they are cyclic but almost 3 times more fish this year than 2024.

We were out with Yukon Expedition Sleds yesterday who is building . When the shoulder season hits, this thing asks…what shoulder season.

Had a lot of Fun Ryan, thanks for the invite. Can’t wait for the next adventure, maybe we will take my boat.

On the evening of Monday, September 15, conservation officers received a second-hand report of a grizzly bear encounter on Montana Mountain that occurred on Saturday, September 13. Upon receipt of the report, officers opened an investigation and attended the Montana Mountain area.

Based on all available information, Yukon Conservation Officer Services could not confirm there is an injured bear in the area and does not believe there is a safety risk posed by this reported bear encounter.

Anyone recreating outdoors is encouraged to stay alert, be bear aware and take appropriate precautions such as carrying bear spray, travelling in groups, and making noise. More information on staying safe in bear country is available at www.Yukon.ca/bears.

Wildlife sightings such as aggressive bear encounters or unusual wildlife behaviour should be reported to conservation officers through the 24-hour TIPP line at 1-800-661-0525. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Yukon Conservation Officer Services directly.
