Oh No! Wind damage on the 100 m range.
The wind has torn the roof off of the 100 m range shelter. The 100 m range is closed until further notice. Rest assured, the TSF has begun the claims process and will endeavor to replace/repair the 100 m range as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, both the 50 m and the 200 m ranges are available. Remember to always check the website before heading out to ensure your range(s) are open.

P.S. At the time of this writing, the roof is blocking the MD of Taber Sport Shooting Conplex entrance/egress road.
(see photos).
All efforts are being made to re-open this road.

December is here! 2026 is right around the corner. Don't forget to renew your Taber Shooting Foundation membership before the end of the year.

Whether you shoot all winter or you wait for warmer weather, keep your membership current and avoid a repeat trip to the RSO safety course.

Saturday Mornin' S***ters had their Turkey Shoot today. It is the unofficial end of the skeet/trap season, although they will continue shooting on Saturday mornings until the weather tells them to stop.

Prizes were donated by Compass Team, Mark, and Jay.

Rod, John, and Ryan were winners. Each was fortunate enough break a white target on their turn to shoot.

Here are a few bits & bobs from the event.

Hi folks. No real news today, just a couple of observations from earlier today.

1. Please unload and then move your vehicle to the parking lot. ALL "driveways" are Fire Lanes, so No Parking in those drive/laneways. They must remain clear. The only other option for us is to place locked access control across driveway entrances, and nobody wants that. I know that not all driveways have signage, but they soon will.

2. Please complete all fields on the sign-in book. We use all of that information to make decisions and/or apply for grant funding. The CCFR (your insurance) may need that info in the event of an incident. You should sign-in every time you enter the facility, even if you are not shooting.

If these are the worst infractions that are going on, we should give ourselves a pat on the back. Thank You and keep working to preserve safety in all areas of the range.

Oh, before I forget, one other observation ... I saw quite a few cigarette butts in the grass on a couple of the ranges. Smoking is prohibited everywhere on range property except the parking lot (rule #15), and please take your butts with you when you leave as they are not biodegradable.

Although not technically a "range event", I would like to highlight this opportunity for youth during Taber's Pheasant Festival.
Mentored pheasant hunts differ from the TPF "novice shoot" because youth hunters walk-the-weeds with a group of mentors in an actual hunt for pheasants. This has been goung on for 15+ years and is a great experience for young hunters. Message me directly for more information if you are interested.

The weatherman continues to bless us with glorious weather.
(I know, I know, I just jinxed it).

Come on out to the skeet/trap range on Saturday morning at 10:00am and break some clays!

$6/round for clays and you supply your own #7.5 or #8 target shells.

Today was the day!
The Shooters' Hall at the MD of Taber Sport Shooting Complex was declared open and available for use.
After a light lunch and a quick ribbon cutting, the list of sponsors was revealed. The people and businesses that made contribitions to the cost of construction is quite lengthy and the TSF wishes to thank each and every one.

Range Fall Clean-up Day will be October 4, 2025. We will start at 9:00am.
Come out and join our crew, or come out and fix that issue that has been bugging you all year.

This also means all ranges are closed for the duration of the clean-up. Please plan accordingly.

Well, it's the middle of September. Time to think about renewing your TSF membership in order to ensure non-interupted access to the MD of Taber Sport Shooting Complex.

Do it now. Next month you have to buy candy and costumes for the kids. November usually means new snow shovels, tires, coats, boots, mitts, and hats for the whole family. And December spending is always nuts. By January it's almost too late and the credit card bills start arriving. If you wait until February or later, you will need to take an RSO course again.

So, renew now while you have the time, money, and you haven't forgotten. Here's the online address:

Well, today I stopped on Action Range 'C', commonly referred to as the "zombie'" range. I did not see any zombies, but I did see approximately 100 empty 12-gauge shotgun hulls laying around.

People, if you can't clean up after yourself, then we won't be able to continue to use the facility unsupervised. If this incident was you, please go back and clean up; and then be a better TSF member in the future.
