Confidence doesn’t come from ranking. It doesn’t come from being a black belt. That would simply take too long. Confidence comes from where we’ve always known it comes from—being strong. When we are proud of what our bodies can do and how it feels, confidence is a side effect. We also know the opposite to be true, when we don’t like how our bodies look and feel shame soon follows.

The most apt word for private training is tutoring: a learning session customized to the individuals learning place and style.

This past Sunday the topic was about the difference between the middle of a technique and its ending.

And that the technical ending of a punch, is a spin followed by a squeeze. Using a pool noodle was a visual aid to help him understand this rotation prior to finish.

Skip knees are staple work for Muay Thai. Aside from obvious cardiovascular capacity, that is just a side effect:
•Hands and feet working together to frame the bag, while one foot anchors to gather momentum for the attacking leg.
•the bag informs you via feedback wether one is landing with appropriate placement: driving through and confusing for scraping or tapping with the knee.

Training with the sun is as good as it gets. So while it’s here we make the best of it!

These drills aren’t just running. Their drills that help running get better. Acceleration to deceleration, deceleration to acceleration.

Also a good excuse to cop dope sneakers :)
