We put a call out for Volunteers and we got the Best!💪🏼👏🏼! 👏🏼🎉🧹🪟💪🏼Thank you to President Stanley Symes , Vice President Clifford Frances Aucoin , Treasurer Garth Kipping , Jenny Symes and Dean Billard.
You guys do so much for the Cabot Snowmobile Club, we would love if we could get more people to get involved 🤞🏼 This shelter was put on the Highlands as emergency shelter for anyone who needs to use it to warm up, dry off or have a bite to eat. We know lots go here, please get involved and do your part!🤞🏼

SUNDAY - AUGUST 30TH @ 1PM

Friends of the Pig & Whistle we need your help! We are organizing a work party for Sunday, August 30th at 1pm for a cleaning (Floors & Windows) of the building and landscaping outside. (Brush clearing, bring your wipers) Tourism NS is planning to have camera crews at the building on Wednesday for a ATV promotions for CB. We want to have it at it's best. Remember our sledding first responders when purchasing firefighters 50/50! 👍🏼

It’s been busy for our fire department with calls this week! Our normally pretty quiet department has responded to 5 calls in the last 6 days…3 of them being on the same day! It started with a structure fire, then 3 medical calls and then last night we were paged out for a scary mutual aid call!

Luckily for all the departments and agencies involved, it turned out to be a false alarm but when that pager goes off and you hear what the call is, you don’t know what you’re going to or how many people are going to be there to help!

Last night we were dispatched as mutual aid to a trail off of Oregon Rd in North River. This is the furthest our side x side has ever gone for a call! And even though it was a false alarm, we’re thankful for everyone who showed up to help! This turned out to be great training for our department. We got to use the new satellite phones that were issued to us by the province and were able to communicate clearly with the North Shore fire department as they were unable to hear us on the portable radios.

When you’re looking to make a donation or buying your Nova Scotia Firefighters 50-50 tickets remember that even the smallest departments get busy and have lots of expenses to cover too!

Great to have the Cape Breton Search and Rescue use the Pig and Whistle on their recent 5th annual atv rally 👍🏼

As we reflect on the success of our 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗧𝗩 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, we’d like to take a moment to recognize a group that played an important role in making the day possible.

A huge 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to the Cabot Snowmobile Club for granting us special permission to use their trails and the Pig & Whistle shelter as the location for our BBQ lunch and rally stop.

For those who haven’t had the opportunity to visit, the Pig & Whistle is truly impressive. Nestled in the heart of the backcountry, it’s a spacious, well-equipped facility that is immaculately maintained and clearly a source of pride for the club and its members. It stands as a testament to the countless hours of volunteer effort that have gone into creating and maintaining such a remarkable gathering place.

This kind gesture, along with the accommodation and support provided to our group, helped make the day run smoothly and gave our riders a fantastic place to relax, enjoy lunch, and connect with fellow participants.

We are incredibly grateful for your generosity, hospitality, and support of our event.
