🌧️ Mother Nature Wins This Round! ⛳

After another night of rain — on top of everything the course has already absorbed over the past few days — we’ve made the decision to keep the golf course CLOSED today, Sunday, September 6.

Our drainage has been working overtime and the course has handled an incredible amount of water remarkably well, but at this point, the best thing we can do is give it a chance to drain, dry out and recover.

We know everyone is eager to get back out there — trust us, we are too! ⛳

A huge thank you to our members and guests for your patience and understanding, and to our Golf Course Maintenance Team who continue to work through some pretty challenging conditions.

☔ The rain has to stop eventually… right?! 😅

We’ll keep you updated as conditions improve and look forward to welcoming everyone back to The Lakes as soon as Mother Nature gives us the green light. 💚⛳

🌧️ A Little Rain Can’t Stop The Lakes! ⛳

Cape Breton has certainly been getting its share of rain! With nearly 90 mm falling in the Ben Eoin area since yesterday — and more still in the forecast — Mother Nature has been putting our course to the test.

The good news? The Lakes is handling it incredibly well. 🙌

Our drainage systems are doing exactly what they’re designed to do, moving an incredible amount of water and helping the course stand up to some very wet conditions.

A huge shoutout to our Golf Course Maintenance Team for the work they do throughout the season to keep the course healthy, playable and prepared for weather like this. 👏

There may be a lot of water coming down, but it’s also pretty amazing to see just how quickly the course is moving it away.

We will post an update in the morning regarding the course playability for Sunday!
