Bonnie Hamilton is a PhD student at the University of Toronto. Matthew Gilbert took this photo near Byron Bay, Nunavut over the research season. Bonnie is focused on the transport of contaminants via micro-plastics into the central Arctic, and their impact on Arctic char in the area. Her studies are centered around the idea that micro-plastics can act as a vector for contaminants because of their large surface area and ability to absorb organic contaminants. Follow Bonnie's work on arcticfocus.org!
