FIRST EVER LEATHER BALL CRICKET GAME IN CAPE BRETON!
CBU Cricket Club and Sydney supernovas cricket club two of the most established and skilled cricket clubs in Cape Breton played a significant game at the newly established cricket field in sydney. This will surely inspire a lot of people to take up the sport and form more clubs in the future to come. It was the first of many matches to be played in sydney. CBU CRICKET CLUB were the winners in A well organized game by the Sydney supernovas.

Cape Breton cricket association along with Cape Breton Island Centre for Immigration had the pleasure of hosting a LEARN TO PLAY event and Hello Cape Breton cricket tournament 2024 on 15th September 2024. It was a wonderful experience where we happened to host a successful tournament. A special thanks to CBU REC for helping us with the ground and facilities so we could organize this event.

The four teams participating were :
1) CBU Cricket Club
2) defenders
3) Kerala XI
4) Kings XI

CBU cricket club emerged victorious and KeralaXI ended up as runners up!

Following up on the conversation with the mayor earlier this year we have managed to successfully get the work started for our first ever cricket pitch installation in Sydney. This is going to be a multipurpose field for all kinds of sports and suitable for all kinds of cricket tournaments including softball matches. Thank you for this Cape Breton Regional Municipality
Our sources of support have been Amanda McDougall - CBRM Mayor & Nova Scotia Cricket Association. Its big win for clubs like CBU Cricket Club and Sydney SuperNovas Cricket Club that have worked hard for it as well.

🏏We are excited to announce that for the first time, the Cape Breton Island Centre for Immigration along with the Cape Breton Cricket Association will be hosting the Hello Cape Breton | Kwe' Unama'ki Cricket Cup!

The Cricket Tournament will take place on Sunday, September 15 from 10am - 7pm at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex located at 1250 Grand Lake Rd (CBU).🌟

This will be a 6 team, outdoor tournament open to all who would like to participate. 👉Register your team by emailing [email protected] or stop by for the community learn to play from 4pm - 5pm!

CBCA BEAT NSCA BOARD XI 2-0 !
CB Cricket team won both the games convincingly against a team of probable provincial players and top club division players.

Cape breton cricket team successfully managed to beat NSCA BOARD XI by 4 wickets. With the help of some key performances from shubham singh , yasir khan and mohammed junaid.

NSCA Board XI Came back strong this game and were looking to dominate but a brilliant effort from yasir khan and jalal helped CB cricket pull the game back.

CBCA MEETS CBRM MAYOR!

Cape Breton cricket association president met the CBRM Mayor Madam Amanda MacDougall to speak about the growing popularity of the sport on the island and the need for increased infrastructure and facilities. Thanks to National International student commissioner Mr Damanpreet Singh for his support.

Cape Breton Cricket Association is proud to have their membership at the NSCA board.
We look forward to keep our needs and requirements to take the game forward in the region.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all members who attended our recent virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM). It was wonderful to see such active participation and engagement from our Halifax cricket community.

During the AGM, we bid farewell to outgoing board members Khurram Aziz and Astik Singh. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them for their invaluable contributions to NSCA.

We are also thrilled to welcome Anil Banoth, Revant Sharan, and Touseef Fahim Mahmood as our newest board members.

Additionally, incumbents Reeze Telling and Amit Joshi will retain their board positions for the next 2 years. Hala Azmat and Junaid Mohammed (from Cape Breton Cricket) have graciously accepted the honorary board membership

Once again, we express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated in the Vitual AGM & Awards event in past few weeks.

Attached are all the award winners from 2023 HCL/NSCA season. A huge congratulations to all. We wish you all a peaceful and joyous winter season.

Cape Breton cricket association were at shipyard elementary school last Friday to educate the physical education teachers on the sport. All the teachers showed immense interest in learning the sport and have made sure that they will include this game as a part of their co-curricular activity.
