With our North Surrey Mustangs teams starting their fall seasons today, there was no better way to end the summer last week with the Nexus Community Cup. 💙❤️
More than just a tournament, the Nexus Community Cup represents what football can be when it brings a community together.
For one weekend, players, families, coaches, volunteers, and supporters from across our community came together around the game we all love — creating memories, building connections, and helping make a difference beyond the field.
At the heart of the event is a bigger purpose: raising funds and creating opportunities for low-income families, newcomers, and new immigrant families in our community who may otherwise face barriers to participating in sport.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, belong, make friends, and experience everything this game has to offer — regardless of their financial circumstances or how recently they may have begun calling our community home.
The Nexus Community Cup is a reminder that soccer is about so much more than results. It’s about belonging. It’s about opportunity. It’s about looking after one another.
As we turn the page toward another fall season, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible and to everyone who continues to make North Surrey such a special soccer community.
