MEN’S GOLF CLUB ANNOUNCES A LIMITED NUMBER OF AVAILABLE MEMBERSHIPS
The Nico Wynd Men’s Golf Club has released a limited number of available memberships for the 2026 Season.
Media Relations Director, Ross Ruddick, noted that returning members were given a December deadline to renew their memberships and, since that date has elapsed, there will be a limited number of opportunities for the general public to join this historic 46-year-old Club.
The Club consists of two separate leagues that play a full eighteen holes at the Nico Wynd Golf Course on Crescent Road in South Surrey. The Tuesday league is for players 55 years or more and it is completely full with a lengthy waiting list. The Saturday league is for players older than 19 years and there are membership openings in this group.
Both leagues have regular seasons that run from the middle of March through to the end of October and then offer winter play for those brave enough to handle colder weather. The golf course provides preferential morning tee times on a year-round basis with the first times ranging from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM depending on the time of year. Tee times are over a two hour window. All registered members book through via the Men’s Club and not the course and they do have the opportunity to pick early, middle or late to coincide with their personal schedules. Annual membership in the Saturday league is $165.00 for 2026 and then there is a nominal fee for each event to cover the cost of prizes. These fees do not cover green fees, which are handled by the course, but the Men’s Club is given exclusive access to some discounted multi-game and season passes. Unlike the general public, Men’s Club events are all a full eighteen holes with tee positions that differ between the front and back nines.
Scheduled events will include regular stroke play, Stableford, match play and the occasional team competition. There are also several significant competitions such as Ace of the Month and Year, Club Championships, The Nico Cup and the Memorial all leading to a year-end wind-up banquet.
Ross Ruddick noted that this club, although adhering to the Rules of Golf (for example – no gimmies) the competition on the course is low pressure and notable for friendly camaraderie between all members. The playing field is leveled out by using handicaps that range from plus 2 to around 30 and new members will obtain a registered handicap after five official rounds. The camaraderie and friendly banter continues after the rounds are completed as most members patronize the clubhouse and this post-round socializing is what makes this club unique.
