Aikido for Adults and Teens
Are you looking for a fun activity for the fall and winter. Aikido for Adults and Teens is starting in September! No matter your physical fitness level aikido exercises and technique will slowly raise your ability to move freely and feel stronger. Aikido is a non-aggressive martial art that incorporates stretching, circular movements, breakfalls, rolling, balance and imbalance techniques to increase your body awareness. Aikido teaches self-defense techniques with respect and disciple incorporated into each class. Through partner practice, Aikido provides a safe environment to learn how to protect yourself when you are put into a non-friendly situation. Whether tripping and falling or when being pushed around, aikido students learn how to peacefully resolve a situation.
New to Aikido students will learn the basics in aikido including, etiquette, responsible practice, Aikido terminology, falling safely, rolling forward and backwards, aikido stance, partner respect, dojo maintenance and body awareness including stretching, muscle toning and balance.
New to Aikido adults and teen student’s introduction classes will run from 6:15pm to 7:00pm for the month of September on Mondays and Thursdays. In November all adults and teen students will then start class at 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Mondays and 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursdays.
