🐾 #10 Cohen Paquette | 2007 | F
A Sturgeon Falls local returning for his second season. Cohen suited up for 37 games last year, posting 7G + 11A for 18 points in his rookie campaign. He’s back and ready to take another step forward!

🐾 #9 Xavier Choffe | 2007 | D
With 50+ junior games under his belt, Xavier is ready for a fresh start. After battling illness and a challenging school schedule last season, he’s healthy, motivated and ready to find his role on the Lynx blue line.

#20 Ioann Abramychev |2010| D/F 🇷🇺
At just 16 years old, Ioann brings 6’0”, 175 lbs of versatility to the lineup. He can play both defence and forward, and once he adjusts to the pace and systems of junior hockey, he could become a very important piece of this group.

🐾 #21 Ryan Grant | 2008 | F
Coming to us from Kanata, Ontario, Ryan has been a productive player everywhere he’s played. With smooth skating and a high hockey IQ, he gives the coaching staff another versatile option who can move throughout the lineup as the season progresses.

The pieces are coming together. The excitement is building. 🔥

🔥 EXCITING SIGNING SUNDAY 🔥

The West Nipissing Lynx are pleased to announce a mix of new additions and returning veterans as we continue putting together our 2026–27 roster.

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on THREE returning veterans who will be back in the Lynx jersey this season!

🐾 #8 — CARSON RUDDY
2005 | Returning Veteran
Carson Ruddy joined the Lynx at Main Camp last season and quickly made his presence felt — both on and off the ice.
His leadership qualities were recognized early, as Carson was named to the Lynx leadership group in his first season with the club.

Ruddy dressed in 41 of 42 regular-season games, putting up an impressive 14 goals and 28 assists for 42 points.

And when the playoffs arrived, Carson took his game to another level, adding 9 assists and playing a major role in the team’s postseason success.

We’re excited to have his size, competitiveness, leadership and playoff experience back in the lineup.

🐾 #19 — DEANTHONY BENDALL
2005 | Entering His 4th & Final Season
There’s much more to a player than what shows up on the scoresheet — and DeAnthony Bendall is the perfect example.

Entering his fourth and final season with the Lynx, Bendall has already suited up for 135 games in a West Nipissing jersey, recording 66 points along the way.

But Bendall’s value goes far beyond his offensive numbers.
Shot blocking. Big hits. Battling in the tough areas. Playing through adversity.

Most importantly, he’s the type of teammate who shows up every night ready to battle for the guy beside him.
Every successful team needs players like DeAnthony.

🐾 #72 — SERGEY TISCHENKO
2005 | Entering His 3rd Season
Entering his third season with the Lynx, Sergey Tishchenko has already appeared in 85 games wearing the black and gold.

Although he may not be the biggest player on the ice, Sergey makes up for it with exceptional skating ability, vision and hockey sense.

With 60+ points over his first two seasons, Sergey is looking to build on that offensive production and make an even bigger impact for the Lynx this season.

Three veterans.
Three different styles.
One common goal.
Winning.

MAIN CAMP ✅

That’s a wrap on Main Camp!
Your Lynx players have battled through high-intensity on-ice sessions as they shook off the rust, and started building chemistry with their new teammates.

The boys now get two days off before returning to their regular team practice schedule as we prepare for our home opener next Friday!

LYNX SIGN A PAIR OF GOALTENDERS

Ahead of this weekend’s Main Camp, the West Nipissing Lynx are adding two international goaltenders to the organization.

🇷🇺 2006 | Vadim Veshkin
Yekaterinburg, Russia
6’4” | 210 lbs | #35

Vadim is a big, athletic goaltender who demonstrates excellent movement and athleticism for his size. He is technically sound, confident between the pipes and brings a strong presence to the crease.

Vadim most recently played for HK Belgorod in the NMHL.

Vadim arrived late last night after a long journey, and despite the long flights and hours of travel, he has officially made it to his new home here in West Nipissing.

Nixa, Missouri, USA
6’0” | 155 lbs | #30

Aiden joins the Lynx from the Springfield Spirit USHS.

A highly focused athlete, Aiden takes his training and development seriously and is ready to take the next step in his hockey career with his first season of junior hockey.

Aiden is making the long drive from Missouri today with his family and will be getting settled into his new home here in West Nipissing.

ZACH MAJOR IS BACK 🔥

The West Nipissing Lynx are proud to announce the re-signing of #7 Zach Major for the 2026–27 season.

A local product and one of the most accomplished players in Lynx history, Zach has continued to make his mark on the franchise since joining the team.
With 196 career regular-season points in 105 games, including 68 goals and 128 assists, Major has established himself as one of the most productive players to ever wear the Lynx jersey.

His production has continued into the postseason, where Zach has appeared in 23 playoff games, recording 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points.

His individual accomplishments have also earned league-wide recognition. Zach was named 1st Runner-Up for GMHL North Division MVP in 2024–25, and in 2025–26 he was recognized as 2nd Runner-Up for North Division Most Sportsmanlike Player.

Zach’s commitment to the Lynx goes beyond the rink. He has recently started his career as an electrician with one of our major sponsors, and the delay in finalizing his signing was to make sure he could properly balance his career and hockey commitments.

After working through our schedule and making sure everything could fit, Zach has made the commitment to return and continue contributing to our organization and our community.

His experience, skill, competitiveness and leadership will be a major part of our group heading into the 2026–27 season.
