We are non-profit, and do everything we can to keep our fees as low as possible to allow as many players to play as we can. Strathmore Chaos Volleyball club is the creation of Club President Greg

Appleyard and Vice-President Vito Peraino. In 2014, together they coached a local junior high school grade 7-8 girl’s volleyball team. The season was a great success as they took a group of girls and made them volleyball players. After the season, they wanted to find a way that allowed players of different skill levels the opportunity to continue to grow as players through prepared and challenging drills and playtime. What was initially a discussion about a school club became a discussion of a community club.

It wasn’t until Lindsay Hall, a teacher at another local junior high school, joined Greg and Vito that the idea of Strathmore Chaos came alive.

In the past three seasons, the club has grown from having one U13 and one U14 girls teams to multiple U14, U15 & U16 girls teams. The club is looking to have teams for the girls U14, U15 ,U16 and U17 age groups with the club growing to add a U18 team next year.

Masks are now mandatory for all Volleyball Alberta participants during training and competition.

Volleyball Alberta recognizes and understands that we cannot eliminate the risks associated with COVID-19 when participating in our sport. By its very nature, our sport cannot be played without breaching physical distancing measures or sharing equipment. In order to minimize potential exposure and spread of COVID-19, Volleyball Alberta has taken extra precautions and effective immediately, it is mandatory for all participants to wear a face mask at all times for any indoor volleyball activity.

We have recently announced a mandatory mask use policy “to require masks for all VA Participants, at all times, while they are indoors, including but not limited to arrival, training, game play, and departure”. To read the full announcement, please go to our website latest news story:
