Many of my past participants have told me that they felt calmer, more in control and less fearful after attending classes!
There’s so much more to these classes than dancing (although that plays a key role in easing discomfort and preparing the body for birth!).
Check out a class for free anytime.

Are you feeling scared of labor pain or of giving birth? Your fears will disappear in Dancing For Birth™ class as you gain confidence in your ability to give birth and your capacity to enjoy birth. This is beautifully said and so true!

✨𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐁 𝐖𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘✨ Birth is not just about that one day in your life. It is a moment in time which will stay with you forever. It’s about how you felt in that moment, how supported you felt, how honoured and sacred you cherished this life changing experience. This is an event like no other. One that will be looked back upon many years down the track and one that will either strengthen you on your journey to motherhood or make that road just a little bit more challenging. It changes us in every cell of our being and it can empower us and help us rise and awaken our inner knowing more than anything else. So when I teach about birth and the normality of birth to women I want them to remember that they have this innate power within them and they just need to be made aware of it again. They can use this power to transform and become truly empowered women for their babies and into future generations.

✨𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐁 𝐖𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘✨ Repost | It's Not Cord Blood, It's Your Baby's Blood |

"At birth, ⅓ (or more) of your baby’s blood is still in the placenta.

That means if you immediately cut the cord, your baby is missing A LOT of blood.

If you were missing ⅓ (33%) of your blood, your heart and respiratory rates would increase, your blood pressure would drop, and you would become anxious and confused. If you lost 40% of your blood, all those symptoms would be worse and you would become lethargic.

If you lost more than 40% you would die.

So how long should you wait after birth to clamp the cord?

Ideally you would “wait for white”. This means the cord isn’t clamped until it has stopped pulsing and turned white because all of the blood is now inside the baby. This is usually over 5 minutes (I’ve waited until the birth of the placenta with my two homebirths [about an hour]).

But delaying cord clamping for even 60 seconds has been shown to have benefits including:

🔆 Increased hemoglobin
🔆 Increased iron
🔆 Increased blood pressure (early clamping means BP can be too low)
🔆 Increased urinary output
🔆 Increased body temperature (early clamping babies are colder)

If baby is having a slower transition to breathing outside the womb upon their birth, keeping them attached to the cord will also continue to provide them with oxygen until they begin breathing on their own." Fabulous quoted info by ❤

Currently in our communities, and generally, careproviders don't need to be asked anymore to delay cord clamping, but we always suggest that you tell them at birth that you want them too. Your Doula or partner can remind you. Delay is also possible during a cesarean birth, and is worth asking your OB ahead of time, for a scheduled birth.
