Stratford's Spring Swingoff Tournament

What a weekend! We need to start this week with some BIG thank you's!

First off to the players, coaches, families and fans - thank you for your cheering, your good sportsmanship and smiles!

To our umpires who give up their time to our games, to the Town of Stratford staff for field prep/maintenance and to All Star Cresting.

To our Player of the Game sponsors (please go look at the previous post listing them all and if you know any or are into any of these businesses, let them know you appreciate their donations)

To the team in the Stratford Stealers Association who helped with game announcing, scoring and music, as well as to the Board of Directors.

And finally a couple of really BIG thank you's to our lead organizers Steve and Michelle - you two were running all weekend (and in the lead up) and it is greatly appreciated! As well as to Lyneah who took on the bulk of our social media posting to keep our POG and scores updated.

U13A Champions - Stellarton Stingers

Steve Miller, one of the tournament's organizers pegged this game as the "Best of the Tournament"

Stellarton overcame a 4 run deficit in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie it and and send it to extra innings. After Cape Breton scored in the 7th, Stellarton walked it off with a 2 run homer to seal the Championship. It was an exciting finish to an offensive battle.

U11 Champions - Dartmouth She-Devils

Stratford's best team of the tournament fell to the Dartmouth She Devils 9-3 in the Championship Game. Congrats to Dartmouth - PEI's teams will be gunning for you all season.

U13AA Champions - Western Attack

Western Attack scored 2 runs at the top of the 6th inning, and held off West Royalty to take the U13AA Championship.

MVP of the Game - Ellie from Western
Stats - 2 singles, walk, 3 runs, 1 RBI, and scored the winning run in the top of the 6th.

Player of the Game for West Royalty was Jordan S. She had 6 Strikeouts, a single, walk and a run in a very tight game.

Congrats to both teams on your medals!
