Q. Is kendo expensive? A. Do you use real swords? No. Q.

Kendo meaning “the way of the Sword”, is a modern Japanese martia artl of sword-fighting based on traditional Japanese swordmanship or kenjitsu. Kendo is a physically and mentally
challenging activity that combines strong martial arts values with sport-like physical elements. While we do our best to keep the price down, there are some costs associated with practicing kendo. Please message the club

Q. When playing against an opponent we use a practice sword called a shinai (bamboo sword) and when practicing kata, we use a boken (wooden sword)

Q. Is kendo a hard sport to learn? Kendo is a martial art and as such is physically demanding and it will take time to learn all the aspects of kendo. That being said, kendo can be learned by everyone. Do I need to know how to speak Japanese? While commands are given in Japanese, you will be able to learn them as you go.
